Aces High Con~ When will the ball roll?

My concerns are this, the closer we get to the date, the more expensive tickets could cost,and reservations might be more difficult to book within the hotel system.  Anyone leading this off?  My other half is in tune to my wants regarding the Con, I would like to book the trip before she changes into the evil other half that I cower and shrink to.

What kinda Beer do they have in Texas (PLEASE Don't answer Budweiser , as it is NOT considered as a beer....).
