Rip, Mako let me know which of those you would like to lead. I let it up to you to decide the planes/loadouts for the section you take. Then we can generate generic mission files and save them for easy posting the night we do this.

Squad CO's please let us know which section you would like to fly in.

Do we have a date set for this?

Fighters please.  I know that the 412th is ready to fly fighters rather than Ju88's.

Don't forget the idea was to have half the squads race the other half for a reset.

The MA TOD night is to be on Friday 18th (ie. this Friday).

Can I make a couple of suggestions for organisation?  (Suggestions only, will take whatever tasking given by Raub ;) )

As we will be flying for your country Raub (knights), maybe we should assign the Axis squads from Black Sea TOD to fly against the Bishops and the Allied squads from BS TOD to fly against the Rooks.  (I suppose the terrain in the MA and the number of fields owned by the knights at the time will have a bearing on how we could apply this tactic).

I also had in mind to just assign 2 or 3 squads at a time to attack a certain field and leave the plane choices to the squad COs.  Then the squads could use their own particular style of attacks and the race to reset would be a race between the squads based on their own particular styles, not the aircraft type they are assigned.

Maybe there should also be a count kept of how many bases each squad/group of squads captures so as to allow bragging rights on the General BBS?

Can't wait to see the whining on the BBS after this. :D

I like that idea, and it requires less work from me which is always a good thing. ;)

Just split the squads in half. Axis side hits Bish, Allied side hits Rook. Whoever captures more fields wins hehe.

Yup.   The plan is to just run this instead of taking a break this weekend.  Same time, same people, different place, same fun.

I’ll throw a suggestion in here.

I can understand not wanting to shoot down country mates but I think we should go for the reset and focus on one side.  Of course overall numbers might warrant a push on both fronts but I’d like to see the steamroller on one side.  Just pick the front against the country that has the most basses.  Like stated before though it will depend on the situation at the time.

I like the competition idea.  Each squad or group does its specialty in their favorite aircraft and tally up the number of fields.  If it’s being divided up in to thirds, right flank, left flank and straight up the center?

We can say it’s in memory of the Oklahoma land rush :D.

Its nothing personal, its more of the "TOD participants" against the world:)  Hey if someone gets sore at me for shooting me down, then I am sorry to hear that, but its all in fun.

On a side note, Raub, the 56th requests P-47D30's on that night:)

This will take place "this" Friday the 18th. I will send out a note to all C.O.'s. The time will be the same as the regular TOD. 11 PM Eastern.

Raub the Mongrels can do Jabo or Buff. Put us where you need us.

Once you have the squads divided up let us know who we will be taking orders from. You, blue, or rip. :)

daddog and others,

Okay just got an e-mail notification about this thread and all the TOD squads running things in the MA this friday. I regret to inform you that the Nightmares VMF-101 will not be participating in the TOD MA on a "squad" level.

One of the few rules / traditions the Nightmares have is that we fly for one country and one country only in the main arena. We first formed in Air Warrior back in 1996 and from our inception to the end of AW in 2001 flew exclusively for the Bz. In AH, we chose Rooks back in 2000 and have flown exclusively for the Rooks as a squad ever since.

If individuals decide to switch and fly for the Knights for a night .. I think I can turn a blind eye to that and never notice though.

itt sounds like fun and good hunting to you guys. But its almost a 7 year old tradition / rule and would cause me more headaches than you know to try to change it on a squad level. So please note the absence of the Nightmares VMF-101 and modify your attack plans accordingly for friday.

Ghostdancer I should leave this for Nimitz, but there is a loophole for you.

You fly for different countires in the scenario's.  This is nothing more than a big-ass M.A. scenario.  Get yer butts in line and follow your ORDERS.

See you in the M.A alongside the rest of the TOD squads....

skernsk,

Thanks for looking for loop holes but before AH we had been playing in AW scenarios for years where we had to fly for different countries in the scenario arena. The tradition we have is in regards to what country we fly in the main arena. Squad does not care about TA, CA, or SEA and what country people have to fly for in there.

I will however, bring it up to all of my squad and let them decide (the howling you will hear shortly will be them debating ;) ). My bet is that they will not have any problem with individuals switching for the night but .. I don't expect many to switch to Knights.

I will get back to you guys ASAP as soon as I get a consensus.

I honestly am not going to have time to come up with a plan for 16 squads. The easy way to do this would be for all of us to meet in the MA at the normal time. We'll post 2-3 missions at a time and all the squads can sign up. If Rip or Mako want to step up and get more detailed that's fine.

Tell ya what, I have a bunch of Canned missions (50 saved ones) of various A/C, historical planesets, goal-oriented missions, you name it, I'll post it. I've got a couple nifty ones where you have two different goals in mind if ya wanna do that...or, for grins, we could do an armada of B17's and just pork every front line field we come across, along with some escorts to finish up any goons trying to re-supply those freshly porked fields :D:D

Don't misunderstand this, I do NOT want to lead the group, I will just post the mission. :)
