"Flying for underdog country"

I heartily agree.  Whether base capture or killing enemy planes is the focus matters not to me. Either way lots of enemy bogies are "going down" like sawdust to a Hoover :)

With all due respect, if we can't 100% participation for same country, then why bother doing it?

Why don't the other 13 squads change to rooks to satisfy VMF-101's requirements? My squad is dedicated to Knightland, but we certainly won't have a problem changing to Rooks if that's what it takes to get 100% participation....

Ripsnort,

I don't want you guys feeling hostage to the Nightmares and that is how I would feel if you switched to Rooks. It was a completely random choice as to what country the TOD Assault would fly for as it should be to avoid any problems of country bias. If you all switched to flying Rooks instead of Knights, basically all 13 squads are doing it make one squad happy and I don't believe that is right. After all if the TOD squads ever do this again the same situation would arise and you guys should not get locked into flying Rooks just because of us.

In addition, the event is tomorrow and I know you guys have worked a bit on getting the word out to all the people involved to fly Knights tomorrow under Raubvgl, Blue Mako, and Ripsnort. It would sort of be unfair and probably cause you a lot of headaches to try to change countries and modify you plans on such short notice.

I posted here on the board to tell you guys we would not be participating because I thought it was the upfront thing to do instead of just not showing up. As I said I could not command my guys to switch countries and none of them volunteered to do so while I turned a blind eye. In light of this I just thought it was the honest thing to tell you guys that we would be over defending Rook Land.

We have not animosity toward TOD squads or this event. Its just that we have a tradition and all of my pilots are bull headed (to say the least).

As for Rook Land feeling picked on if you attack Rook Land .. don't worry about it. We know we will be outnumbered but the Nightmares VMF-101 and our sister and allied squads will be waiting for you and will do our best. We actually sort of look forward to such a big fight if does come our way.

We sort of feel like the guys at the Alamo. :) We digging in and expecting the worst but there is always a certain charge (adrenalin rush) that goes along with fighting against the odds.

I think the whole purpose of this excercise is "Comraderie"...just wouldn't be the same if the 2nd biggest squad in the TOD was not part of it. :(

Ah I see Ripsnort .. I was not aware of that was what you guys were aiming for. Just sort of became aware of this whole thing yesterday myself. Pyroman and Fdutchmn were aware of this thread but both had different takes on it.

For example Fdutchmn thought that the TOD squads were going to split between countries in MA and then attack each other and see who did the best.  Pyroman thought the squads would be in the same country but split among hitting the two enemy fronts and then see which front did best

After reading the thread I am still not sure what the goal is ... reset, who captures the most bases,  forces split along different fronts, etc.

Didn't even think about the goal of just building camaraderie between all the squads involved. Its a good goal .. my guys are just bullheaded and refuse to not fly Rook in the MA.

I am sorry that we have become the fly in the ointment here by us being stubborn and sticking with out tradition. If you do come Rooks it should be a very interesting night for us and very bad night for another country.

If you don't it should be one hell of a fight. And we will enjoy it either way .. as allies or opponents.

C’mon guys.  Lets Blitzkrieg the MA.  202 missions and the sort would be fun but lets have a purpose in 2 hours and try and take as many bases as possible.  It is going to be a kind of marketing ploy for the TOD so lets show the organization through base capture.

Grab, grab, grab I tell ya!

We should hit the side who has the most bases but we should also stick to one country before starting it.  This time it’s Knights, next time (hopefully a next time), the toss up is between Bishops and Rooks.  Then whoever looses that toss is chosen for the third.

It’s gonna be a hoot.  Death, destroy, carnage!  Rape the fields and pillage the sheep!  Make the MA a smoking hole!  Get the hammer, and you, just take the you and lsdkjfioejekvjiodijkl laljkdfoijoejqhu!

Ok, I think I feel better now.  So, are we gonna like kill something or what?  :D

LOL Zip!

Okay, back to the original plan, Daddogs.  Meet in Knitland, join up any missions that Raub, Rip or Blue have in the mission planner. :)

well, since it's pretty much already decided on Knight, this isn't important but...

what country do the squads currently fly for?  if we switch to the country that has the most squads already in it, then less people gotta switch.

Not that it matters to me, I'll switch to Bish even.  ;)

Just would like to have all the TOD squads involved.  :)

Well,   Iv not participated in TOD ... Thou the CAF has been talking about giving it a try.

I do wish you well in the MA.   This sounds like a great exersise for you guys.   Lets just hope you attack the Rooks.   You can count on a good fight.  Of course if you were looking for a MilkRun, maybe Bishops are the better target.   ?? Did I just make that a challange??     :D    Bring it on!!   ;)

Best o Luck to all and lets make it a fight worthy of Song!

Best keep current plan, it's hard enough to figure out what I'm doing when it's spelled out for me.  Much less changing plans right up to the deadline.

I agree with pizza hut. We should b together and focus our efforts!  I hope the intention is not to split the TOD squads up and compete against each other.  For this evening it would be awesome to have all the TOD squads with all our attention on one country

Looking fwd to it !!

Psss..  Whoever is making the missions please include a Heavy Jug for the 56th FG;)  We would like to be part of the jabo team.
