We shall see how it performs, from what I remember everyone telling me wasn't the 205 neutered?  What we are getting in the 61 is a slower plane then the N1k, turns slower, climbs a lot sloweras well.  People will  fly it a lot because it is new, I do agree with adding early war planes and not just 1944-45 planes.  But this is one I would not have added, there are several other early war planes that could compete in the MA as is.

Mig-3
F4U-1a
P-47C
A-36A I like this one
P-40N
P-63 or even the P-39
yak-3

Ar-240 my favorite
Ta-154
He-100
HS-129
JU-87
JU-188
JU-88 G series
ME-110

J1N1
Ki-44 IIC
Ki-43 III
D4Y2
B-24
Do-17 or 217
A-20
A-26
Halifax
FW-200
HE-177
Il-2
PE-2 or 3
B-34 ventura series
G4M series
B-25 series
Pe-8
Stirling
Tu-2 oh yes please

These are just a few from teh early to mid war period that we could have used all of which I would have loved to have seen.  So you see there are others out there even for JP they could have chosen.  Just my .02 worth.

The ONLY thing the Ki-61 and Bf 109 have in common is the engine, the Japanese fighter using the Ha-40, a license built DB 601A(same engine as used in Bf 109E-4 and MC.202). Otherwise, the two designs couldn't be any more different.

How do you know they AREN'T adding the Ki-100 and Ki-84 TOO in 1.07?

People are acting like these screenshots are the only two new planes in 1.07 and complaining how they added the Razorback or 61 instead of (insert plane here) when there are probably 3-5 more planes to be announced.

Torgo, they are just not happy unless they are complaing.

Wrong answer Toad I am very happy with this game, I just voiced my opinion on the Ki-61 introduction.  Percieve it however you want to.

Gents I love this game, I am also aware that the game gods must spend precious time making these planes for us to fly around in, So I was wondering why they spent time on the ki 61 when they could of been making me Randy....

Hm, I think both the g2 and the c205 are potent planes.

granted, if I met cit or hblair or ziggy or any other experten in a g10 vs my g2, I'd lose, but I'd be in dire straits no matter what plane I'd bring.

So keep more mid war planes coming HTC! Commendable  .

Any new airplane is welcome.
But I hope that in the 1.07 there are also new bombardiers !

Except that the Ki-61 has performance which is like a MC.202 using military power. Ie; 368mph at 16k, and reaching 16.4k in 5.5 minutes. At least it's guns should be better than the crappy Italian peashooters.

Ki-61-Id, aka Ki-61-I-KAIc: 2x20mm Ho-5 in nose, 2x12.7mm Ho-103 in wings. Wing pylons for drop tanks or 250kg bombs.

Those of you who think that the KI-61 isn't a good turner are in for a big surprise.  Old WB vets will recall that.  The KI-61 could dive and turn well - better than comtemporary 109s (due to a different wing), if not quite as fast. I think that there will be plenty of people flying it.  It will either have 4X.50s oe 2X20mms + 2X.50s.  Those of us that are fond of the p51B know that 4X.50s can get the job done in fighter-vs-fighter work.
