An idea on base capture
« on: January 24, 2002, 09:47:58 AM »
Dont know about the rest of you,but Im a bit bored with the same old routine in the game, Perhaps we should try using ground vehicles as the only way of delivering troops and capturing a base? and use a C47 to drop troops to capture the ack guns? before the arrival of the ground troops/armour? its time things got moving on the ground (no pun) be nice to do it differently than the old way of dropping troops from a C47 all the time, gets a bit boring, maybe combining air and ground warfare to capture a base would make things a bit more fun?. Right now theres not much point in using tanks and halftracks because by the time they get there the base is usually captured, this way, base capture would be reliant on getting troops in on the ground to secure a town/base.
 Just an idea......:p

What about Mindanao? The mountains pretty much preclude ground assualt. Maybe if trains could carry troops, but that doesn't seem to be something provided for in the current rail system.

Oh yea,  make the train stations like ports and capturable, and the trains like CV's and player controlled with mobile ack and 88's with manable gun positions.  The train should be able to carry supplies, troops, and ground vehicles.   1 or 2 cars for each item you need to transport.  The more cars you are pulling the slower the train goes.  And only one train from a train station can be active
