One of those nights to remember...
« on: January 30, 2002, 09:44:34 PM »
Tonight was one of those nights where everything seems to go well.   Gunnery was good, jabo accuracy was right on, connect was good, I was having a good time socially on the ch. 1 and with my countrymates, everything was going my way.

When I first logged on around 5 pm Central, Knights were in the hole.  Only a few fields in the southeast section belonged to the Knightlandian Empire.  I decided to grab a B17 and pork a field or two in order to slow the Bishop advance.  A little bit into this sortie, former territory is regained by the Knights.  This sets off an explosion of cooperation and field captures.  One after another, the Knights were drunk with glee as they saw their progress sweep across the lands and liberating countless miles of territory from the evil Bishop Regime.  Within two hours the Knightlandian Empire had nearly trippled its original territory!  Most of my countrymen didn't know what had happened!  Several Knights wondered where the Knights of old had gone (the furballin, unorganized dweebs :D).

After a while of conquering and vulching, I decided to take a relaxing B17 flight in the mellow light of the AH sunset (and grab some food during climbout).  Midway through the flight I noticed 3 sector bars on the fringe of the maniacal Rookland heating up.  Several Knights suggested it was a furball.  Octavius thought different... trouble was brewing.  A random furball in Rook controlled territory was not feasable...  My flight continued deep into the evil Bishop territory.  My target:  Bishop capital.  Upon arrival I caringly unleashed my cargo upon the bish citizens.  After the drop, I checked the radar and noticed a Rook SWARM in the southern parts of Knightlandia.  Oh the HORROR it was!!  It was a Rookland invasion upon sacred Knightland soil.  After about 45 minutes, the evil scum known as "Rook" had pillaged a fairly large chunk of Knightland, all the way to Knight HQ.  While the bulk of the our country scrambled in the south, a few valiant Knights stealthily overtook the A9 area with little resistance.   Knight morale shot up like a rocket.  These knights were men of honor, more than that, they were heroes... for about 5 minutes.  The A9 liberation was quickly subdued and the Knight Empire was back to where it started.

Tonight was one of those nights you'll remember for a while.   I enjoyed every minute of it.  A BIG to the Rooks for their excellent blitzkrieg style attack around 8:30 pm Central time.  Even though their numbers more than doubled the Knight force (:D), I still had a blast.  And another to all the Knights too! :)  Was a blast!

oct out.

Yep, sure was a great night to be online. It was my first night back in the MA in a long time, and I look forward to being able to fly much more often than I have in the past year.

Lots of funny banter on the open channel, not much smack talking, was a very enjoyable evening.

Everyone who was there!

Was a good battle last night.

Oh, and just so you know that major attack on Knightland by the Rooks started with an assault by over 40 B17 bombers flying together.

327th Steel Talons (KOOL CiC, BOOT in charge of buffs, I ran a seperate JABO force in support) was hosting the RJO last night and decided in honor the first massive unescorted B17 strike (64 B17s) on Germany that took place this week back in World War II to start the night with a massive B17 strike in the MA. Will have screen shots shortly.

Nice fighting Knights last night. You guys did a very good job at the end of the night stopping us at A57 and A53.

I heard that there were at least 42 B-17s in that attack. I believe someone said that there a total of 186 aircraft in entire assault! I logged on late, but was able to get airborne and join up as an independent. Initially, I did not even know where they were headed, but I figured it would be fun to get involved. So I went in with the group that hit A60.

As I wound my way up through the Flying Forts, it was a sight to behold. Maybe next time, I'll log on before the mission is closed.:D

My regards.

I was in awe at how fast you guys got goons to 58

3 buffs circled over 58 at high alt, killed all the FHs, then watched a C47 take off, turn around, and and all the FHs come back up.

How'd you guys do that?

Seriously!

lepaul if you mean a57( SW of HQ?maybe its 58 cant remember) it was me :) I didnt launch from same base i dropped on tho.I had already launched for another base and diverted the moment i saw the horde continue on toward our rear bases.i was watching a massive red horde swarm over the base and i kept shouting for knits to hold on :) i said i was 5 miles when i was 10 to give em hope lol :)

but just as i arrived the embattled knits cleared me a path!, although i did pull a hammerhead evasive over the base :), it was fantastic. All the while the knits were saying they were getting slaughtered but they kept fighting :)

Yeah I have a bunch of screen shots of last night.  I was the lead B17 in that flight.  I was in Awe at how many B17's surrounded me.  I counted atleast 80 and we were only the first wave.  We had a 2nd wave just as big.

It was amazing!  Isn't that a new record for a B17 mission in AH?

Great job to both countries.  Knights you were a class act last night
