One of the Oldest Squad Disbands
« on: February 02, 2002, 11:33:11 AM »
It was with a heavy heart today when I pushed the button to disband 3./JG2.  We have been active in Aces High since November 1999 when Weazel created the squadron.   I believe Weazel created the squad as soon as that option was available to players.  I also believe I was his first invite.  I've been with JG2 ever since.  We seen alot of changes and many of our members went on to create their own squads.

We currently had only 3 active flyers and after talking with the other 2 active pilots (Sour and Maddog) it was decided to take this course of action.

So there will be one less LW squadron in AH.  :(
Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.

Hang eyeballs the ragtag band of ruffians populating the ready room, barks *TEN-HUT!*

The mob suddenly becomes alert, silent; attentive.

"Today passes into AH history the name of an adversary group that commanded our respect. Tho they wear odd looking leather undergaments, swill lite beer and spew cheese puffs, none can disparge the skill, tenacity and daring their pilots employed during their reign as our opponents. We gather here to mark the passing of an outstanding luftweenie organization, and wish them success in their ongoing endeavors to provide us with material for our comedy features in the near future. That is all."

"PRESENT...

*unziiiip*

 ARMS!![/b]

*flop, thud, plop*

"DISMISSED!"

Oh damn :(

When I joined Jg2 I had almost nil experience on how to fly properly a plane. I was a Chog-Hispano-HO-dweeb (;)) in the most pure state. I had just a slight grasp of what was E-fighting, but  no real idea on how to properly apply the E-fighting into any plane...and less in a german plane.

I think I had the best of lucks when I first joined one of ripsnort's Jg2 "squad nights". I loved it and soon was invited to the squad....yes, I was REALLY lucky.

I was lucky because I joined a squad which during the time I was there had so GREAT people and pilots as  were Weazel...Ripsnort...Saw...Bee ...Swager...Glasses...StSanta ...Kirin...Hristo...the names come to my mind but I can't put them all :).

I was lucky because I learnt to fly the 190 from so great teachers as Ripsnort, or Weazel (my first JG2 mission in a 190A8 was as his wingie...I followed his moves witnessing how he was killing everything around us like a machine)

I was lucky because I happened to join what has been, for me, the best squad I've ever seen together in AH. Not because we were a lot -which we were- but because the PEOPLE in that squad.

Not only that...I think that I owe almost everything I know now about air fighting to that squad and the people there. Was the best online air combat "school" I could've ever wished...

And now it is dissapearing...this are SAD news...VERY sad news indeed :(

Sorry to hear about it Swagger... :(

JG2!

Swager,

I'm sorry to hear about your squad.  Having only been with the Mongrels for maybe seven or eight months, I can just imagine what it must be like for you and the long history you have with your squadron.

By the way, are you the "Swager" who flew with the Mongrels in the TOD yesterday?  If so, it was a great pleasure to have you flying with us.  I then can't say I'm too sad about your squadron because if you fly with us more, it's a great boon to the Mongrels.

I remember it when it started, at its full glory, and when the decline started. Sorry to know it gone.
