There is little or no early (or even mid) war action in the arena, and that kinda sucks.

Still, I have a ball flying with my squadron mates, I enjoy the plane modelling, and the quality of the opposition is quite good... so I'm happy, just not perfectly happy.

Ditto. I couldn't put it much better than that.

Well, not long ago I left that other online flightsim who's initials are Air Warrior so it should be fairly obvious THAT I'M TRULY HAPPIER THAN THE toejamIEST PIG IN THE PEN!!

The only REAL squeak I agree with is the over-abundance of Chogs but thats minor....actually I consider it a good way to get lotsa perkies.

No. I hate it here. This game sucks. The developers are weenies and their minions are all no-skill lackeys, the country I'm in is always outnumbered and staffed by dolts; I can't load my own plane art, the fields are too far apart; there's no HA; no midwar or early war planes, the connects suck, nobody ever helps me save a1, and the CV's keep turning when I try to take off.

*POP!*

Oh; sorry; I was daydreaming about WWIIOn-line. Has that been canceled yet?

What WD said.

I think the reason for some of the boredom is that yer doing the same things in the arena, night after night. Of course it's gonna get stale.

But there's no reason for that. The MA is one giant playground loaded with options... and it's up to you to decide what you wanna do.

Just as an example...

Funked says he is "quite bored". He also says field AAA is too tough. Au Contraire. I spent the majority of my flying time in the TA one week practicing  JABO and clearing acks. It becomes an absolute breeze to do - one plane can totally prep a field. What have I gained? It has opened up a whole new dimension for me.

How many planes have you mastered?

I know Ice and crew are having a blast using wingman tactics. How many of you have actually tried (or tried to pefect) some of Shaw's 2-4 ship manuevers (bracket, offset etc.)?

Have you been to the TA lately to help out some newbie? Try it - it can be fun.

Spend an entire evening in a tank and *try* to do well in it. Employ smoke, realistic tactics etc.

How about spending a night where you would usually be flying, and design a Snapshot scenario instead? The research may be interesting, having it played out would be very cool... and I know the CMs are open to looking at user submitted scenarios.

Play trophy hunter. Go on yer own, solo dweeb hunt. Pick out a guy from the other country... try to zero in on his location... see if ya can tell him apart from the other planes in the area and bag him.

Be a score dweeb for a night. Pretend the slate is wiped clean. For just one night - aim for the highest K/D ya can.... see how large you can grow a kill streak.

Wing with some new guy ya haven't seen before. Met alotta nice folks that way.

Etc. etc.

And don't think month after month of some HA is gonna be any different.  The real reason for boredom is lack of imagination.

Apparently some folks never see their own glass anywhere near half full.

It must be b*tch to get up every day knowing that a "good day" for you is going to be no dry sand in the bottom of your glass.

It's got to be even worse when you eventually realize that it was your own crappy attitude that made you think that for so many years!

Nash I can kill AAA quite fine thanks.  But the fact remains that the acks are a lot closer to current military stuff than WW2 stuff.

Heh - try taking a 109f4 up in MA and shoot the chogs down who engage you in a turn fight thinking its a G6 or G10. <G>

Parting them out with the 7.9 mm MGs is quite satisfying - kinda like pulling the wings off house flys.

About AH: It is simply whatever you make of it.  There are many many things to here do all it takes is some imagination.

Some are better at this than others.

If I whined every time I got whacked all I would do is whine so I try to keep that at a bare minimum (whining that is, I like getting whacked).

Yeah Funked... sorry 'bout that. Just using yer quote as an example... as I find it fascinating how many people don't know how big a role fighters can play in field captures beyond vultching. It just adds another interesting element to the MA, which was really my point.

But I know you can handle the ack... as I've have seen ya do it. It's interesting though....hearing you say that it should be toned down from it being a "Theatre Ballistic Missile Defense System". I'm not sure how much it could be toned down without it being entirely useless. But this is way off topic now. Something for another thread perhaps.

If you changed that to "get assists on chogs to other chogs.."maybe.
I was just starting to think the Perk system was starting to tell and HogCs and Nikis were getting rarer. I must be imagining things.
I think the game rocks. I love it. But its the 90% of customers that never say anything on this board that really matter. The board has been cool too. Neat posts by Widewing etc...

AH has increadible amount of potential techically and it makes me very happy. On the other hand, only small part of it is getting used which makes me unhappy.

Can it be it AH is basically AW, FA and WB all over again? I cannot and it should not be!
