Suncom dual throttle
« on: February 10, 2002, 06:19:52 AM »
Hi,

Been following the posts in the general forum about the Suncom dual throttle. Couple of questions for you dual equipped guys :)

I have win2k, what part of the dual throttle won't work?

I hear Suncom went bust, any one else hear anything?

ebgames.com has them, I am in Ireland and cannot order form this site. Anyone know of a supplier in europe?

Does the dual throttle give you an edge?

Thanks in advance 38 pilots :)

Grayarea.

I have a the Suncom dual throttle and win2k.  Works fine - but I
have it hooked up to the Suncom F15 Talon joystick, and running both through a USB converter I got at Radio Shack.

Yep, Suncom is defunct.  I don't expect any support.  I paid about $50 for the both, and just expect it to last until the 2nd batch of Cougars ship.

I haven't noticed any advantage in flying the 38, but it sure is fun to advance the engines independently.   When I tried to make my turn sharper by throttling back 1 engine, what I notice happening is the wing with power tends to rise.  I suppose this is because of propwas flowing over the wing, causing a lift differential between the wing without power.   I haven't noticed that I can crank a turn any sharper without spinning out.    But I am by no means  master of the 38.  (or any other plane, for that matter).

I got mine at ebgames.  Don't know where else they are available, but a search on Google should turn up something.
