Big Salute! to the squads that do not rotate tours
« on: February 06, 2001, 08:04:00 AM »
Not a dis to those that do, just a big <S> to the squads that stay with the same country from tour to tour, through thick and thin, til death do us part!

Post here if you're a dedicated countryman or have a dedicated squadron for your country in Aces High!

Been a rook since day one, gonna stay rook forever

Just like in Warbirds, logged on for the first time as a purple, logged off for the last time 4,5 years later, still as a purple.

I am extremely loyal to my country.

Why ?

Heck, I dont know, I just am

You smell that? Do you smell that?
Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that.
I love the smell of napalm in the morning.
The smell, you know that gasoline smell, smelled like victory.

Proud to be Knights.

"And one of the finest aircraft I ever flew was the Macchi C.205. Oh, beautiful. And here you had the perfect combination of italian styling and german engineering .... it really was a delight to fly ... and we did tests on it and were most impressed." - Captain Eric Brown

Been bish since day one,...will stay bish.  The SFRT squad has pretty much made me a honorary member as I havenot had time to participate in the regular missions and flight times.  A big <S> to the SFRT for putting up with my inability to fly on a regular basis.

Why bring it up?  It's very rewarding to log into a new tour, and see the same guys fighting for the same country, without leaving..that's all!  Yesterday afternoon we had a big tank mission, and it seemed alot of 'regulars' were there...<S> to the 'Regulars'.

Its even more rewarding getting to fly with those who you had once considered your foe.  At one time, I thought I would never leave Bish but left to try out another country after getting frustrated with my countrymen.  Lo and behold, I found those Rooks who had been chasing me all around to be great guys.  And ya know what?  The friends I made while in Bishland (you all know who you are  ) were still my friends in Rookland.

I think you miss out on getting to know lots of great guys if you fly for one country only.

Er, Dingy, the post said Post here if you're a dedicated countryman or have a dedicated squadron for your country in Aces High!

Start your own post if you want.  Thanks!

Edit: And one doesn't have to rotate to enjoy the friends from other country's...I've met plenty in SEA, Special events, Check Six events, etc. etc. as well as just chatting on open channel!

I can't argue with that, however, to those who rotate to another country, then give me grief on channel 1, don't expect me to kiss your arse and follow your every whim when you rotate back.

Rip, in order to pay this compliment, you infer that there is something that rubs you the wrong way about those that do leave.  Therein lies the insult.

Don't have a problem with you feeling one way or the other about it.. just don't throw out this subject and try to come off politically correct at the same time.  You felt the need to come here and pay the compliment, amidst the "side changing" threads that have been prevelant lately.  You are, wether you admit it or not, expressing an oppinion on it.
