But just search a bit in the past (in 2000 if I recall good) there was a proposal made by Slovenia concerning the way judgement were done in ice skating ...

It was rejected by the ISU ...

go figure ...

And yes it was rejected by the Canadian and the Italian too ...

You're starting to smell your own toejam ?
That's perfectly normal ...

This sport has been rotten for YEARS  and you just discovered it last week ?
You're either blind either idiot.

I love ice skating but I hate the international(*) federation with passion.

(*) surprisely international mean there's representant from Russia,France,Poland ... and even Italia and Canada ...

That sport does have a lot of problems and I'm sure they exist throughout the entire sport and not just the French or Russians or low class individuals like Tanya Harding. But as someone pointed out it's hard to drop any of the most popular events. I got the biggest kick out of the biathalon, but my wife was a bit confused. Curling isn't even that bad, but then I am easy to entertain. Perhaps the time is ripe for serious reform since geopolitics has less reason to dominate the judging these days and since the $$ value of the events is so high now.

What gets me. though, is the whole Ice dancing thing. While making a deposit in the Wife's emotional bank account by watching Ice Dancing over the weekend, I realized I had no idea whether one team was really doing better than another. The french pair seemed to be the "hottest", the Canadians left me somewhat flat -- both were hyped before the event -- but I could not say, short of a major flub, why one particularly pair was better than another.
