what would you all think about something like this.......
Each field has its own radar and a "radio" or "communictions shack".
Individual field radar information is relayed back to hq through a "sector" command station either at one of the cities or factories.
You would have several fields per sector.
from "sector command" the radar information from the various fields in that sector is relayed to HQ then redistributed back to all the fields globally through the seperate sector commands.
example if you destroy a sector command then it stops radar information from that sector being sent out country wide.
However at the individual fields the local radar would still be up. If you were to up from any one of those fields you would have local dar extending xxx miles from the field.
If you just destroy local dar at a field then a radio a message via the "radio shack" is sent out through the sector command to HQ which sends a message over country channel "field xx is under attack"
It would add a new dynamic to field grabbin. To "sneak" a field you would need to cut off communications. You could then kill local dar to entirely mask your attack.
Knocking out HQ or any the sector commands would leave local dar at the fields but would give you no global view.
Mission planners would love the complexity of knocking out sector commands, communication and supply. Not to mention grabbin the field as well.
Add in a an air raid siren that goes off locally at a field when it the twn/field is attacked. attach it to the communications shack so it can be knocked out as well.
Anyway probrably a bit too complicated by sounds good
