I have been thinking about this all day. I really don't understand why they have such a loyal community. I know our communities tend to be a bit neurotic, but I really don't understand this. I still remember all the stuff they used to tell us trainers that turned out to be about 80% outright lies. They told the same stories to the community and expected us to back them up, then HS stabbed us in the back over the mushbirds "feature" (the reason I quit). but then that's
my personal experience, not most of the WB communities. But the crap IEN has pulled over the last 3 years is mind bending. Then with Wild Bill back in the saddle I really don't understand how all the old vets could stand that, after what he did the first time. He not only almost killed WB he did damage to the whole freakin industry with imagic f22 raptor or what ever it was.
Personaly I found Jay Littman to be a very nice person. I talked to him several times on the phone when I was going for the community manager job (it was between me and Iceman when I changed my mind about moving from Texas). Then I found out about the lies, and to be fair that was more HS than Jay. I could see how the community just likes him and is willing to give him a chance. But that has been a 3 year chance almost now and not much has changed. WB3 is out, but what I saw didn't impress me much at all. It looked nice, but not as nice as what I've seen some people say. The terrain color I liked more than AH, but AH gives me a much better feel down low on the deck. Then there was all the stuff that I remembered from CK/WB. Overall I was left with the fealing that it was the same school book from last year, but with a new book cover. The user interface to select planes was virtualy identical to what it was when I quit. All the dot commands were the same. Everything. Then there was the fact that after 2 years it still had less planes than WB and was very early beta material.
I haven't played it since then so I don't know what it's like now. I don't need to play it. I can look at where WB was when I quit and what AH alpha .24 was like in august of 99. Then I look at where AH is now and WB 2.77 is still online w/ WB 3 in beta though I thought they were already charging for it. It's such a simple thing for me to see that HT and crew are much better at this game than IEN. I guess my problem is that it's so clear to me that I don't understand how others (ie..
everybody) can't see it too. To each his own I guess. The one plus about HT going into competition with himself

is the new price we pay for the hi-fi version of our little addiction.
Thanks again HT!
