109 E-4 ammo loadout
« on: March 13, 2002, 11:23:19 PM »
All the secondary sources I've seen have indicated that the E4 had 1000rpg for the MG 17s. In AH it has 500rpg. Can anyone set the record straight?

1000 is correct. The supply dropped to 500 rpg when an engine-mounted cannon was fitted.

Would be cool to see the engine mounted Cannon aswell, was fitted as an extra loudout to some of the E's.

Yup, gondolas didn't exist untill later, if I am not misstaking the F versions were the first ones to use Gondolas, and those gondolas used, as AH does, MG151's. The cannon armament in the E version consisted only of MG FF's.

The engine mounted cannon was removed in the field the majority of the time. Vibration problems.

Cc raub, which AH doesn't suffer from ;)

True though, many tries were made with engine mounted MG FF for the E version, didn't really succeed untill the F versions.
