Yes, folks, that means restricting your pc's ability to copy stuff also. I don't even want to start to think about the technical implementation of this kind of thing, it's bound to cause malfunctioning hardware all over the spectrum.

'Mommy my Aces High 1.10 crashed because copy protection rom package didn't let me update teh copyrighted material'

We can blame Disney for this.

 They can embed whatever they want. You can be certain that this will not stop people from modifying their own systems to circumvent the copy protection controls.

Unfortunately, circumventing the copy controls is probably a violation of the DMCA.

Then again... how are they going to know? There will be hundreds of thousands of legacy systems out there that are not subject to this type of control.

It's rather like the argument for banning guns in the United States. Too many of 'em and too late to get 'em all.

Oh... here's the ticket... we can register our PC with the appropriate governement agency.

Yeah... that'll work.

Mickeysoft already has copyright enforcing utilities in the .net architecture and with some time they'll figure out a way to force the majority of people to switch to the new windoze os. that has them embedded.

Of course they can be hacked, cracked and packed - still the average consumer is affected just the same. The .net will include online logging with complete personal information, actually it's the first step of creating the 'big brother.'

I for one will never register to .net no matter what it has to offer. Not after hearing the plans they have for it.

The next move will be banning 'wild' systems like linux.

I see that some old people who don't have one bit of an idea how computers works, are again smoking weed and making up 'smart' ideas.
