I agree, Cit. As a matter of fact, the CM terrain team has already shifted focus to smaller, 256x256, and even some 128x128 maps. We're just waiting for the 1.08 terrain editor to arrive to add the goodies.  :)

also by using map resets as a way to progress the timeline each map could have a idfferent plane set.

still htc needs to make 2 sided war code work and also needs field capture enabled because field capture is fun even in an HA

the other good thing about small maps as i understand they can contain much more detail.
