I posted this in the bug section too....

Tried to download from website...upon install I get an error message saying ProgramFiles\HTC\AcesHigh\stdshape.res is the wrong version and cannot be updated. Tried auto update and it would only download 2527232 bytes of a possible 2529997. The program then hard locked my computer. Help! Its my day off and I need to fly the spit IVX!

edit: tried auto updater again and it stopped at the exact same point....grrr.

Okay...I did some searching of the board and it seems this is a very common problem. It seems there is a fix too. Problem is nobody can explain what it is. In all the posts they say something about the install trying to go into the wrong folder or something like that. Bear with me please as I am not a computer god and cannot reprogram the thing.

"The fix is to delete the /terrains in the install path and it will update the game as normal. " - AKSWulf (in one of these threads)

What does this mean and how is it done? The file path I see is C:\Program Files\HTC\Aces High\. That seems like it is the correct one.

ps. I checked my system for viruses and checked the drive for errors and all is well.

majic, if you are desperate and have a fast connect...

Move your AH folder somewhere. and then install the full version of AH 1092..

then copy your settings folder over, and any other stuff like sounds, and sights.

Well, I'm desperate and have a dial up...but I did just that anyway. Works now. Thanks though.
