Your right, sound does not have much to do with performance! but man, it has something to do with the feel and appeal of the car.

You know, you get in, turn the key, the old beast rumbles to life, you let it warm up a bit, then tap the throttle and the car jerks to the right from the torque. You have to crank the radio to hear it over the engine!

It's also sitting in the car you rebuilt! That feels good.

Everything about most new cars is sanitary, and mostly boring. No doubt your BMW is a better car, lol but it just does not have the same personality, if any really. :)

Oh and I live in Fremont, CA about 20 minutes north of San Jose, and work in Mountain view.

If I won the lotto. I would do the same thing as the rest of you.  Give most of it to the IRS

Midnight....it is still a bus man...a BUS!  I don't take the bus now!

Rip, you need to clarify how much we "won"...I've seen lottos won at a million, and at 30 million and up!  Definate difference.

If I won a million I wouldn't even quit work.

If I won 30 million...I'm otta here...and THEN let's talk toys!

easymo....if you win the lotto come and talk to me.  A trust with an underlying operating company wrapped in an insurance product would keep the IRS at bay.

Okay...it does look pretty sweet inside.

and....your quite right...there is nowhere for me to go.

Besides...it would never be able to negociate the roads here, and our speed limit is about 25mph.

GTO, not a "better" car, but certainly a "different car for a different purpose".  I'm just as in love wit'  big blocks as you! My German auto was >< close to being a 2001 Cobra SVT, but alas, the Germans won me over...again.(Used to own Audi's too)

Curval, my GO/NO GO for work would be 5 million. :)

Rip, that's the best performing production *sportscar* I've ever heard of...my yaw dropped first time I read the specs...

The problem you'd have however is that if you are "a normal" person...money alone wouldn't cut it. The production is so small that they normally go to all kinds of celeberties and notable car collectors.

EDIT/with a quick clance didn't notice its top speed mentioned. In finnish tech-magazine they mentioned a figure of 406 km/h...that's 252 mph guys. :) /EDIT

You have the same odds of winning the lottery rather you buy a ticket or not.

That's gotta be cynicism 'cause it's certainly not math.

Not sure exactly what I’d do if I won the lotto.  But I have a very comprehensive list of things I’ll never do again.

If I won that much money I would spend it on Vegas trying to multiply it.
Whats left of it I would fill a pool with cocaine and crack-potatos and make an orgy while I despair on how horrible and hollow my life is.

You'd never have to do anything just because you needed the ride.  You'd actually just be doing it for fun.

If I had millions... I'd have to get one of these:

Figure the whole thing would run about $90,000.
