Chances are your BBS privileges were revoked, not your game privileges. If so, I'd take it as a warning.

Look, you kicked the door in, demanded someone give you something you could get yourself, then became surly about it when your file didn't arrive in your mail as fast as you thought it should. What'd you expect to happen?

If you'd been polite you probably would have had three or four fellows step up and either mail you the file or tell you how to solve your problems. I realize you cannot really call from Ireland for tech support, but e-mail to HTC would have been answered soon enough and they would have helped. I know, every time I ever asked for help the response was quick. That experience is shared by a great many other players who grace this sim.

So, lighten up and help will come your way. Continue as you have, and, well...

What you really need to do is to download the game again.

Yeah.. right shane

He was having problems upgrading because the 1.09p1 to 1.09p2 patch was not finding AHFILM.EXE .  I suppose that file is ALL he needed.

But your all-knowingness by far suppercedes my ignorance.

you bet it does einstein...

read this very slowly....

http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=48091

now read it again.

now tell me that shouldn't resolve his inability to re-download the 1.09.2 *patch* without having to reload the whole kit and kaboodle of *either full download.*

call me sherlock, or "your superiorness" whichever rolls more easily off your tongue. if you're finding either too hard to pronounce, here's a nice speech exercise for you that will help -  stand in front of a mirror and repeat this phrase 5 times, "i'm a sanctimonious git."

thanks for playing.

Shaun-

As it looks like you've been taken care of, I won't send your file. If indeed you still need help, let me know.

Apology not necessary to me at all, but appreciated nonetheless. :D

Shane... I'll go very slow so even you can understand.

He "needed" ahfilm.exe because "tried installing patch 2 and it said that cant find ahfilm.exe .".  This has nothing to do with the thread you linked.  Ahfilm.exe will not solve his problem if the previous patch was not installed.  Tech support tried to explain that to him, but he wouldn't listen.

Now.. run off and bask in your superiority.

lessee....  patch 2 can't be installed cuz it can't find ahfilm.exe.  download ******ahfilm1091.exe****** , run the executable (which is in itself a fuggen installation routine - not just the ****ahfilm.exe**** file) -  then download patch 2, which now sees the ahfilm.exe as installed by ahfilm1091.exe.

boy, you're really shining here, today, bart.

stop trying so hard, it's ok to be wrong sometimes.

Sigh... its an upgrade shane.  That mean it patches existing files... it doesn't create them.  If AHFilm is missing... its because he didn't install 1.09.

Pretty fricking simple for most to comprehend.  Much more difficult for others.
