OK, while Raptor is taking a deep breath, he does have a good point about the Proxy kills. Not that they shouldn't be there, but it should be more along the lines of what you are talking about, a maneuvre kill.
At the moment, the kill attribution does some pretty strange thing. Case in point: last night I was trying to clean a bandit of my squaddie's six when the guy abruptly reverses and comes back at me. I reflex shoot and try to evade: he disintegrates, but he blows my wing off. Then I saw the kill go to someone else who just happened to be in the vicinity when he officially bailed.

I think kill attribution actually works better in Warbirds. You kill each other, it's a mutual kill. You fly someone into the ground, it's a maneuvre kill. You get nailed by AI flak, it's a system kill. You fly into the control tower on take-off, it's no one's kill.
