One four hour stretch would be the limit. Anything more than that and I am out of the loop and fall into the category of my wife yelling at me and or something pulling me away from finishing. I see no way of being able to pull it off on two straight days unless I send my wife to the coast or on a trip with her friends for the weekend.

12 hours out of 1 weekend would be a bit much for me.

6 hours 1 day like everyone else the possibility of being calld away increases.

top that off with 6 the next day I can say with certaintity that providence (among others) will conspire against me....

Personally, I like the idea of some hardcore CM's running an 8 hour event "live", i.e. posting missions for the entire event, so that no preplanning is needed on part of individual flyers.

The CM cadre can be the command staff for each side, with a couple working as neutral referees. Each side, of course, would have a plan, and implement it by way of the mission planner. Pilots sign on and fly, leaving the big picture to post-event analysis and the side CO's.

The pilots would only have to be flexible as to the aircraft and mission they fly.

P.S. This would allow players to blip in and out as they can, and the CM's can have "the plan" ready in advance so that they too can participate as available.

It also eliminates the problem of no-shows, which are the main problem with big events, anyway.

Bring on the 51b's, 47 D11's, G6's, G10's (perked) and Sturmgruppe 190A8's. Too bad we don't have 110G's or Ju88C's.

Dial in factories at Paris, Lille, Antwerp and a BUNCH at the Ruhr and we'll be set to go.

Oh yeah... Spit IX's allowed, but NO drop tanks!

This is what the CT should be. If you can't stay for the whole time, fine. Just drop in, fly your mission, and check back later to see who's winning.

I would do either if I had a free weekend (which probably won't happen for a few months). I would be more able to do 1. than 2. The longer in advance it is announced, the more likely it becomes that I could do it.

Midnight, Big Week was in February 1944. Look for mostly P-47 razorbacks and probably a few P-51Bs, but definitely no Ds.

I'm all for this idea. One big weekend event (afternoon US/evening Europe) once a month would be ideal.

When I was a sysop at Fighter Ace, I once worked an event for 12 hours in one day, so the precedence is set for my wife to ok this

Actually when I do get to play AH I play for a few hours at a time. With enough advance notice and barring any previous engagements, I could probably swing two four-hour stints easier.

I like Gadfly's 8 hour idea too, a bunch of preset missions ready to go and throw in some missions in case plans go astray; open event.
