1. P-40E Kittyhawk 1A, P-40N Kittyhawk IV
2. Merlin engined P-40F was marginally faster than a P-40E, but slower than a P-40N. Only Climb rate was substantially improved over the P-40E.
3. P-40E had 6x.50 cal, only the first 400 of 5,215 P-40N's had 4x50 cal. (P-40N-1), P-40N-5 had 6 x.50 cal as did every other P-40N produced after . The Packard merlin P-40L was reduced to 4x.50 cal
4. RAAF/RNZAF flew P-40E/K/N/M's which is bloody good enough reason for me!!!
