Well, I'm pretty certain there were already many Jews in the region before WW2. But yeah, it's after WW2 that a great many from Europe migrate to the region. So this wouldn't solve the entire problem.
And like someone else pointed to, Jordan, Egypt and Syria took (stole) "Palestinian" lands during that initial attack right after Israel declared itself a state. Jordan still holds some, though I'm not sure about Syria. If this was really about lands, then I think we'd be hearing more about that big fact. But in my opinion, this goes deeper than lands and is really about a difference in religion and a belief that those different from yourself need to be exterminated. It's always been ONLY about killing Israelis.
