HD selection question
« on: April 10, 2002, 12:54:30 PM »
I need to upgrade my laptop's tiny HD - am looking at 30-40Gb 2.5" things and don't know what to get. There are basically 2 choices - IBM TravelStar and Fujitsu (the latter slightly cheaper). Can anyone share their experienses with those? (Price difference is so marginal that it's not the issue)

Thank you :)

IMHO IBM is the only HDD to buy.
Even when they do hose up IBM is good about getting you a new one asap.

Cheers Rocket - I guess since my 45 MB Deskstar 75 is the best HD I've ever owned I shouldn't have asked :).

Of the 100 or so laptops we have I've seen both go bad at about an equal rate.  I still tend to order the IBMs as replacements.
