Why don't you lobby your Senator, Toad?
Because my Senators... and Representatives... like politicians in EVERY country EVERYWHERE are for sale to the highest bidder.
And I'm not even in the same league with guys that can bid for them; in fact, I'm not even bidding.
However, the idea of "buying" a politician always reminds me of what happened when American "big business" thought they owned Teddy Roosevelt.
That instince of "buying" gave rise to the famous outburst from steel baron Henry Clay Frick: "We bought the son of a squeak and then he didn't stay bought!"

The idea that the US Congress would even reduce, let alone totally cut off, aid to Israel flies in the face of everything we know about politicians and "special interests" with deep pockets. It won't happen. However, they may not "stay bought" for long; they're always "on sale" again soon.
Take a look at the entire list of countries we send money to and post a link here. I'd like to see it. I bet there's plenty of "questionable" folks on the list.
Sure, it bothers me.
But I don't let it keep me awake at night.
