Nice. Juuust nice.
I sure as hell hope you don't get your way, partly because I wish there were less night, but mostly, because I can see you have no respect for people who don't want to play the game your way. Why else would you choose to belittle your detractors in advance?
I like the night effect. I'm still in my free period and haven't had as much experience as my squad mate -RY- but my library has 1 film and 1 film only and that's of a night fight I got caught in against a Hellcat when I was in a Spitfire IX. The dogfight ended up on the deck and over an enemy airbase - without my even knowing it because I couldn't see the world outside! It was probably the most harrowing and best dogfight I'll ever have in the Main Arena. Every time I watch that film, I find something that I missed the last time - like how BURNM came down out of nowhere and cleared a LaGG off my 6 without my even knowing he was back there, and how I buzzed a panzer and didn't even know it was there. Glorious. Simply glorious.
On the other hand, flying at night with no radar is the pits and not very much fun because it can be hard to locate the enemy. Can't go attack something that can't be seen, and if you lose your radar after lift-off, you're pretty much just wasting time flying around. I found the Hellcat by cruising along a flight path between my base and the closest enemy base with a red square in its sector.
I like the night effect and it certainly has its uses (such as running a CV group up against an enemy base or taking an ostwind to do some night strafing). But for pure dogfighting action its a downer. How about at least allowing fighters to retain their radar at night, or allowing aircraft that were historically used for night fighting to have radar? (insert plug for P-61 Black Widow here).
Just some ideas to reach a compromise.
