My Policy For "Check 6's"
« on: April 20, 2002, 03:33:19 PM »
Many people have been complaining about me lately. They say i have been check 6'ing them tens and hundred's of times, and they want me to stop.

Here is my "policy" with the 6 calls. If you kill steal from me, i will give you at least 100 Check 6 calls.

If you want me to stop
a) dont kill steal from me
or
b) just squelch me

I am tired of getting kills stolen from me, 1 out of 3 kills i get are stolen by someone else. This is just my way of "getting back".

So stop whining, if i am doing it to you, you brought it on yourself

My initial reaction is…  You’re a tool and have now become the poster child for a permanent squelch list.

Naw.. we don't need a permanent squelch list.  What we need is a new "Check 6" feature: JoeCrip can click his mouse on a plane and "reserve" it as his target creating a special icon color.  Then, when somebody else tries to kill that target their bullets do no damage and they get a radio transmission that says "We're sorry, but this target is reserved for JoeCrip, and even though it might take him the better part of 30 minutes to kill it, we ask that you move on to another target."

If you haven't killed it yet, and somebody else has a better shot, isn't it their target now?

lemme clear 1 thing up. I consider a kill steal this:

When i shoot a plane's tail off, it is floation down, and some moron swoops down and steals the kill.

OK.. I stand corrected; in that case you should be annoyed, but it does presume that the other guy has good eyesight and can tell that the plane is toast already.  Most people do and I don't often see people go after "dead" planes.  Does it really happen that much to you?

Joe,

I couldn't agree more on the kill stealers. Though I haven't resorted to giving check 6 calls.

Finding it very frustrating having kills stolen and having to pour more lead into a target (waste of ammo) then is needed just to insure that some dweeb dosn't pop off a few rounds into the smoking wreck and steal the kill.

If I see a plane going down with obvious (fatal) damage I don't shoot. I just wish other people would show the same curtesy.

I have been known to shoot into a dead plane when I feel cheated from the kill.

I once had a guy give me 100 6 calls in a single minute.  I sent him back about 1000 over the course of the evening :)

Does it really matter that much? What are you worried about? You know you got the kill. Let the other schmuck burn up all his E and ammo chasing a dead plane.

We all know the score ranking system is FUBAR, so why let it bother you?

You fly away with the satisfaction that you really got the kill.

I just don't get it. (And I'm not being sarcastic)

I shall now read a passage from the book of Yeager:

Would this fit under the term Ironic or Hypocritical?

If I get this right, JoeCrip claims "dibs" on his choice of enemy kills?

If he decides to kill someone, you better not also have the same idea or he will, in a manner best described as exacting a sort of pouting revenge, play the "check 6" repeatadly game.

Sounds like the type to also always have an excuse when he dies, why it must have been someone cheating, or outnumbering him, or something like that.

Geez Joe, get a grip.  :)
