Was in flying today and the rooks were geting pounded and the knights and bishs were tied in bases. So what happenes, the rooks started to change over to the bishs. What a bunch of BS!!!!I think AH SHOULD PENALIZE ANYONE who does that because they don't want one side or the other to get the reset!!!!!!!I think it should cost them ALL there perk points to change sides when the game is that close to reset!!!!!!!!

I changed to HELP Rook from knights, should I lose all points for that too?

If a person no longer enjoys flying for a country because it is outnumbered he/she must be able to switch without penalty, it would SUCK if they were punished to have a bit more fun.

No offence but bad idea...

The are penalized, specially switching sides so close to a reset.

They didna get perks from the reset.  You have to be in country for 12+ hours BEFORE the reset happens if you want to get the perks from winning.

OTOH, is the award still 20 points in each catagory?  It's been so long since the rooks actually won a reset that I can't remember.... if it is only 20 points for each catagory then switching sides you can rack up more points vulching etc than you can from winning the war.  Personally I think the reward for winning needs to be upwards of 100 pts for each catagory.

I have to admit that some of us in Spanish Squads (101 Escuadron de Combate Virtual, Spania y Ole, JG52, A.V.E.) are seriously thinking about changing sides... we have never ever left rookland, but something has to be done to make HTC do something about it. :(

I doubt that we will actually leave rookland (heck, we ARE rooks :) ) but the frustration is quickly building up.

We, the few
We, the rooks :)

Hmm... I know it is frustrating sometimes in rooks but should we start to think how to defence when outnumbered. There sure is other ways to do it than just up fighter from vulched field.

- send some fighters HIGH to kill buffs
- few fast bombers or jabos to kill attackers barracks/fuel

Or... just stop fighting and watch attackers milkruns. They must have lots of fun to take defenceless fields.:D

As a fellow Rook, I'm wondering what you mean Daniel. What problems - that HTC can do anything about - are you referring to.

If you mean our utter incapacity to work together as a team, how can HTC correct that?

I mean, Seagoon, that the problem is that some pseudo-rooks tend to change sides at the first sign of trouble (been there, not done that ;) ), and that happens because this is a game, and loyalties and honor are not high in the list of priorities (having fun is).

Add to that equation that we rooks carry remarkably well the underdog cliché, and you see people fleeing to the bishes or knits all the time.

The only people that change sides to the rooks is because of pity or because they are looking for a challenge :)

So, what I mean by this "HTC intervention" is that something has to be done to stop the constant fleeing of players by giving them something that will keep 'em interested even when losing.

Free perk rides is one option, and some will stay, and a perk multiplier based on number of bases captured (the less bases a country has, the higher the multiplier) would accomplish two things:

1. The attacking country, with superior numbers, would be driven to win the reset quickly
2. The defending country would defend relentlessly in order to win more and more perks.

Some people don't give a damn about perks, but this could be a start.

I know all this has been proposed before, but I hope HiTech will finally -actually- do something about it.

Meanwhile, "vee vill masterr to fly defensevly" :D

Oh, and we actually know how to capture bases, been in some interesting missions while in Rookland, but as I said in a thread in the General Forum, it's easy participating in missions when you have the numbers (at that time we were "only" outnumbered by 10)

Rookland will prevail! :D

About free perk rides for the outnumbered country, this is just the secret and most wanted desire of bish and knights, we vulched over and over while taking off in free 262s ;)

Lets go with a new idea:
Once a country is reduced to two bases, a new virtual base is spawn. The new base is placed just at the map margings, at the closest point between a map marging and one of the surviving bases (choosen randomly). This new base is really an ariborne spawn point that will simulate reinforcements from outside the map, with planes spawning at 250 mph, 5k-15k (also choosen randomly per plane spawning) and leveled (dont try to spawn there with a vehicle :D ). This spawn point doesnt count for a reset and is deactivated when a third base is recovered.

The message boards remind of Knights problem.
Always geting off on some Tangent.  LOL
The Point Panman is making is this.  Many dont care about Bonus Perks.  They Like to switch sides simply because. A...they are un loyal cowards.  :)..or B they want to be associated with the winning, even though they really didnt work for it..    Its kind of weird.  However,  Most Like their perkys earned by kills bombing..ect.  I think if some one wants to swich sides.  They should lose ALL personal Perkys  :) .   Then we would have to think Long and Hard about swiching sides on a whem.  Use em or Lose em.
