I felt like Ripsnore's child on summer vacation. His Dad's off to hoopty M3 race at a con in Texas and bored to toejam, except I got shot down quickly by a Lance.

yeah just like our regular A6M5 except that they go up in flames if you rub a balloon on em too quickly.

The only place they will be used is the CT where they will be mind numbingly boring. CT numbers will jump into the 60's till everyone gets their new plane fix and realizes they are doing the same fight against the same tactics using the same tactics every single time.

They are thinking more of scenarios when they are modeling these AC Laz's. These AC are submissions that scenario planners are asking for. However I am not saying that your idea does not have merit IMO.

Although I'm certainly not speaking for lazs, I can voice my own interpretation.

In this example, the pilots use the aircraft of choice within it's designed strength, ie., don't TnB with an F4U1D or BnZ with a Zeke.

Pac setup. You're flying allied. Here comes a zeke. You make your manuvers against a zeke, he does his against an F4U1D.
Here comes an N1K. Same.
Here comes a zeke. Same.

MA setup. You're flying (insert choice). Here comes a spit. Make manuvers to combat said spit.
Here comes a P51D. Change tactics to combat said A/C.
Here comes a 109G2. Change tactics again.

I'm aware of the arguments that all most fight are spits and La7's in the MA. Granted, there are alot of them, but just looking at my stats, I kill other A/C as well. I think if most are honest, they do to. Also, most are prone to seek what is easiest for them to kill which can skew stats as well.

Here's my point; the MA has pretty much hit equlibrium in terms of what is "new" or "different". Sure, you have more planes from which to select and fight, but it still comes down to "this is the 500th time I've fought a 109 in this plane. Here's what I need to do." In the strictest sense it is variety, but in the broader sense it isn't, because gameplay itself is essentially unchanged.

In this respect, the CT is no less varied than the MA.

No, the thing that is beginning to irk me is the continued harrassment of the CT. Honestly, I'm beginning to hope the Lazs idea gets implemented more because I want to see crickets chirping simulated than I do to see something new for people to try. I feel bad about that, because I really am for variety for all people and playing styles, and recognize that isn't going to happen as fast as we want unless people contribute. Continuously ragging on the efforts of others is counterproductive to that end, and we wind up with less.

What happens is this thread gets hijacked into another cut on the CT for the benefit of the "Area Arena" concept. Starting to sound like Gore and his "Lock Box".

I agree on on the hijack and we should continue this elsewhere.

Having said that, I disagree somewhat with your theory of the MA. Granted, you and I may have fought a 109 500 hundred times and we handle them the same, but carrying that into an axis v allied setup, then we are well over 500 against the 109. At least in an MA setup, I may not run into a 109 tonight. I may tomorrow night, but just not tonight.

Don't get me wrong, I like scenarios. Yes, axis and allied. I would also enjoy some romps in the CT from time to time but darn I wish the numbers would come up. It may just be the times I log on but there are never enough in there for me.

kieran.. if you have fought the same plane 500 times then grab another and try it or .... even the same plane. Are you saying that you have killed every plane in every plane 500 times? Have you then been in every 2 vs 2 fight combo possible 500 times?? How bout 1 vs 3?? 3 vs 3?? How many combos is 6 vs 6??

What apache said is true... If you fight hisstorical planes then you will have to only deal with what that country thought was important.. every plane you face will act the same just better or worse at what it does. Every plane you fly with will also act the same. A jap plane is a jap plane.. A german plane is a german plane. figuring out degree is pretty simple. simple gets boring for a lot of folk.

What I am wondering is... for those of us who have no use for the Ct or scenarios then what we have is essentialy a bunch of really neat planes that we would love to try with no place to try em.

When the uber planes that a lot of people don't care about come out then we seem to figrure out a way that they can be used in the MA. I don't see them attracting people in droves to the "free perk plane arenas" at all.

As I see it... you guys are telling me that that about a dozen of the most significant and interesting (and fun) planes of WWII simply have no place in out most popular arena.. So I say.... So far... for about 400 people in prime time... it is just wasted effort to model em.

Yep, it seems they are leaving you non-scenario people out of their descision process. They are thinking about those folks that like scenarios. However you (and those others) are will still be free to use those early war AC as you see fit in a late war dominate MA.

1 way to balence the early war planes (and model planes) in the MA would be to give em a bigger ENY value, I don't know what perk points or eny is set to in MA any more, I havnt played there since early september when i first got AH but I'm thinking of singing up again if they would just add a biwinger or 2
