Well, Natedog just posted a screenie of the new D3A1.  I suspect more early-war Japanese aircraft are in store for us.

Ki-44 Shoki  looks like a IJAAF version of the Jug!  I'd fly it for sure!

I swear those wings look to me like they have a little forward sweep.

I think Shoki would be very interesting to fly, but I most look forward to seeing the Ki.84 in AH.    Sometimes I wonder if many in the AH community have as little regard for Japanese aircraft industry as did American and British war planners before WWII.
Can it be true though?   Aren't all AH flyers well-schooled in aviation history?

If it is not so, Hayate will teach them a painful lesson!

How about the Kawasaki Ki-100, which was the Ki-61 with a radial engine?  It was built right before the end of the war so there weren't very many, but a few of the books I have declare it the best JAAF plane put into service.  Otherwise, I'd sure like to have the Ki-84.

oh, something is weird in the pic...
ki-100 didn't have longer barrel guns on the wing.
ho-103 MG could fit in the wing.
and IJAAF didn't paint a drop tank yellow. :)
