the me 262 is just a prehistoric fighterjet.
like the stopwith camel is a prehistoric prop fighter.

it's just that it got two ugly engine gondolas attached to it's wing.
for a jet that's ugly. :)

Ta152 : love at first sight.
Anyone have wallpaper-sized or good quality pictures of one?
Second best is F7F, nice american style.

Wouldn't mind one in AH though.

I guess since it wasn't mass produced for combat it doesn't count, but my favorite was probably the He-100.

I bet a solid black Mustang would be good looking. Anyone know of any in existance

I saw a black one in Florida back in early 1983 at the TICO show. We arrived at the show pretty early and apparently this guy was just arriving.  We just happened to be on the airport perimeter road at the end of a runway when this speck appeared in the distance to my left - coming straight at us at about 450+. Flew right over the car no more than 15 to 20 feet agl, low pass down the runway, then zoomed straight up till it was just a spec again.  That fly-by is etched firmly in my memory.

Saw the same black P51 in St. Pete at Albert Whitted airport a couple days later.  It was the only black one I had ever seen - will never forget it  :)

I don't know if its still in existence.

Met the author Martin Caidin that day also. My friend Steve Gentle taught him to fly at Katama Airfield, where I collected landing fees and pumped gas for four years.

While the pony is a beautiful thing, it doesn't get any better than this:
