A word of warning.
« on: May 09, 2002, 11:59:00 AM »
I went to the dentist recently and since I had moved between dentists I had to find a new one.

I had a filling fall out recently and needed it taken care of because it was starting to hurt.

After my exam the dentist tells me I need a bunch of work done including a crown and several fillings. He would be calling my dental insurance to get approval for the crown and sent me on my way. Didn't fill the missing filling or do anything but talk squeak and re-schedule me for later.

I then hunted down my old dentist and made an appt within 2 days of my call and as it turns out, the filling that fell out needed to replaced and I had one small cavity to be filled.

thats it.  I didn't tell my dentist about the details of my other dentist.

I came into work and told my boss about this and he says his daughter just had the same thing happen to her and went to a different dentist etc..exact same thing.

If you go to a new dentist or are listed for extensive work or have any doubts. Please get a second opinion and don't mention the first to the second.

It seems like there is some funny business going on with some dentists.

I would have ended up with a crown that I didn't even need and probably several fillings that I didn't need.

Contact the dental board where you live.  My mother is a dental hygenist and she once worked for a dentist that had his license  suspended about 3 years ago because he was doing unecessary work on people.

Okay I'll find out how to do that =)

I'd rather he not rip anyone else off either.

Contact your insurance carrier as well. They are the ones being defrauded and would be REALLY happy to check it out and cut this guy off of their approved list.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

Not just the dentists. About 25% of the women are persuaded to go through the C-section even though barely 3% may actually need it.
 Of course it is:
 1) major surgical procedure, so the surgeon, anesthesiologist etc. get involved.
 2) can be scheduled - this way a doctor does not have to risk staying late or God forbid come to the office on the weekend.
