The price of Freedom is the willingness to do sudden battle, anywhere, any time and with utter recklessness...

...at home, or abroad.

Ok, we are officially stepped down to DefCon 1.

The country radio was a little... animated... last night. I thought we might see an immediate anger-post. Didn't happen, happy to say.

Bet we see far more Bish's and Rooks tonight, and far less Knights... <hint, hint, wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more...>

I was only briefly online yesterday, could anyone give more information what happened since seems like I have missed the interesting stuff alltogether?

Hmm, I am planning to fly lots today and I am knight, should I be worried or maybe even leave to country?

I was on for a couple sorties, long enough to see the Knights get banged from two ends, something that happens to every country now and then...our turn in the bucket.

It was a night of rook and bish dining, accompanied by "fine whines".

As Rip said, just somebody's turn in the barrel.

It all evens out.

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

It wasn't anything that doesn't happen every single day to one side or the other. Most guys just shut up and flew. There are always the vocal ones that cannot stand to be in the situation and they cursed and carried on, and suggested switching sides, which I suspect may happen. Do whatever makes you happy says I, better to switch sides than quit.

I did go on open and ask for the other sides to end it; the noise on the country radio was growing unbearable.

In one instance the noise grew so loud I said something to the effect:

"Guys, it is over. Let it end."
"What do you expect us to do, sit in the tower and wait?"
"Yup"

The way I figure it, if you can't take the pressure of being squished and it isn't fun to you, why keep upping? Better to log or switch sides if this upsets you so much.

As for myself, I had a blast last night. Sure, we were surrounded, so what? We defended as best we could, doomed though we were from the outset. There were several others that were there and seemed ok with it too (Apache, Commanche, et al). Some of us haven't learned that there is nothing you can say on the open channel in that situation that won't be viewed as whining. Heck, I even had some people telling me tough luck, and I wasn't complaining!

Ah I see, knight getting whacked, nothing new then

If there is even one uncapped field left you still can fly fun sorties. For example few days ago us knights were down to our home island with one enemy field there. I upped in Ju 88A-4 and I climbed towards west, avoiding airfields and radars generally. I was near enemy training factory when I was intercepted by P-51 and Yak. They made numerous attacs and I lost all flaps, rudder and elevator but managed to shot down the P-51. For some reason Yak gave up and he flew home. I bombed rows of barracks and headed home with three new interceptors in my tail. Since I was badly shot up already I bailed and was taken capture. At hangar I found out that I earned 67 perk points in that sortie, not bad.

Maybe I can repeat that sortie tonight

Damn... my whole squad missed it!  We fly knights (i think their called knights).   And all we complained about (amongst ourselves) was the lack of action.  We did have several times when the action was pretty good but for the most part everyone seemed to be doing their best to avoid fighting.
