Yea... I've a severe brain fart. I know there is a darn way but man, I can remember it.... anybody wanna tell this handsomehunk how?

Of course, I only see what he posts here and what he does in the MA.  I know virtually nothing about the man.  I think its important for people to realize that we don't really know squat about each other.... definately not enough to use words like "hate".

Normally the best way is to boot the machine and read the BIOS post screen.  It usually will tell you the make of the mainboard somewhere on that screen.   Reboot it several times until you see the info you are looking for.

Other than that, it's probably silkscreened on the mainboard someplace.  You could also try motherboard Monitor, that might tell you the mainboard you have if it's at least 6 months old or more... I'm not sure how good it's detection routines are though.

you can try belarc advisor, it will tell you how much ram you have, how many slots you have on your board and your current configuration. It also gives you a wealth of info about your pc. You can find it at
