scoring bomber kills?
« on: May 18, 2002, 05:40:56 PM »
will a bomber still be worth 1 kill?

if i remember correctly i read somewhere that killing a single bomber scored 3 kills in total. 2 for forcing the bomber to speparte from the formation and 1 for killing it.

when there are formations, are we going to get that 2 extra kill points?

no doubt it is more difficult to shoot down a formation of 4 bombers than to shoot down 4 single bombers. somehow this should be reflected by the scoring system.

if additional kills are historicaly inacurate, lowering the ENY of the bombers within a formation might work?

you dont get anything extra now if you kill buffs in formation.

Its gonna be easier they way i read it. The lead buff cannot manuver very much to kept the formation. Damage a buff he will fall out of formation if he falls to far he will die. or be an easy kill.

I cant imagine the gunner aiming the buff gun very accurately if its out of formation.

The tactic would be to attempt to break up the box and pick umm off 1 at a time. Doesnt sound to bad to me but then again i killed 10 buffs in big week 5 in 1 pass. They were all in formation. rtbd upped and killed 2 fighters.

You will need to focus on your positioning. You dont want to end up climbing from the 6 o'clock position.

The gunners and pilot will have to jump around to the gun positions. So slashing attacks that force them yo jump around to track you will mean less time the have to get a good line. All you need to do is damage one enough to cause it to drop out of formation.

I dont think we need any thing "extra" to kill them.

just my 2 cents

Get them switching positions and you should have an easy time. There will be no more 90 degree banks using rudder from the gun position. I would imagine a steady line where you have the opportunity to set up good passes.
