In AW fuel went by 9/10ths.  So if you loaded u 39% fuel, your weight would be as if you were flying with 30% fuel.

Now maybe I misunderstood this, but are you implying that calling BINGO on AW FR gave you a 90% chance of survival? You are saying that in AH your countrymen do not cover you on your return trip? Guess what? Fuel and Ammo management are YOUR responsibility. If you can't read your gauges, stay in a field gun. Otherwise, make sure you've got enough ammo and fuel to protect your own bellybutton on the ride home. Like SA, fuel and ammo management is your responsibility. If you get cover on the way home, say thank you, and be on your way. Otherwise, the only person you can count on is yourself, and your squad if your in one.

It's that simple. If I saw you and you called Bingo, I'd take you home, but that's me. Not everyone plays my way, nor should they have to. If you tell me it was different in AW FR, which I flew for 2 years, I'm telling you that's not true.

So enjoy your tenure here at AH, and when something better comes along, let me know how human nature is different at Game X. I'll be sure to file a report with the Consortium of Sociologists.

I honored bingo calls from people I either knew,or respected.

There were certain people who I would never let go...especially the so-called "aces" who couldn't fly head to head if their life depended on it.

You would catch them with their horde vulching a field,and they would run home screaming bingo.Bingo from vulching?Sorry buddy...pop goes the weasel.

Necesitas lecciones de espaņol porque no sabes utilizar correctamente los sujetos aunque tampoco es exactamente el sujeto parece mas bien que no sabes utilizar los complementos circunstanciales de lugar o quizas sean los verbos pero lo que endefinitiva se nota es que no es tu lengua materna puedes seguir intentandolo y te puedo recomendar un par de foros para que vayas practicando tu castellano. En todo caso gracias por lo de asno payaso. Si te ves con cuerpo puedes traducir todo por mi y que vaya bien

OK I'm gonna say this then duck and run.

I love AH, but one thing that almost never happened in AW FR was shooting a landing plane. It was frowned on by all and was considered bad form.
 
Additionally a countryman returning home with kills was often assisted. This was due to the scoring system. Landing a kill was worth 10 times dieing with one.
 
Kill stealing was much less of an issue in AW as well. If the guy was an enemy it was good to kill him.

All that being said, none of those issues had as much to do with the game as with the community. The AH community is as good as its players, and that is pretty darn good right now.

I flew AW for 6+ years (2 RR, 4FR) and actually heard about the AH beta from Moss at the 99 AW convention. I'd say AH is a logical progression from WB's which grew out of AW. Overall the biggest difference is pilot quality...alot of very seasoned sticks.

Also the E modeling is a bit more demanding (but no where near as tough as it was in 1.4< :(

As for playability, this is more like "the real thing" than AW was. Alot more players at one time so SA is more important than ACM if you fly for score.

As for the bingo crap...it was then and is now. I would often let a cripple go (then and now) but was always amazed at folks would scream into a furball hose everything they could and then go screaming bingo as they tried to crawl out the bottom of the furball.

When I heard someone call Bingo in AW, all I thought was, here is a kill I don't have to work hard for.  To me, Bingo is a game that old ladies and dweebs play.

Really?  First I've heard of it!  I lost count the number of times I was chased back to base by an angry Bz or Az and had to make a very quick landing, trying to avoid being shot down in the process.  Fortunately, I usually had a very good gunner on board (Arrt), who would take them out as I was landing, or even rolling down the runway trying to brake like hell!  More often than not, of course, the ack would get the attacker first....  :)  Diving down to a friendly field from around 30K after destroying the Bz Aircraft Factory, with a Bz fighter in pursuit, was always a great buzz!  :D

LOL!! what planet did you play AW on?? I shot bingo callers on general principles and chutes because you dont get off that easy in my sky

And for the person who said AW FR had a better flight model??

Are you serious?:rolleyes:
AW FR flight model was the same model as RR except it had built in penalties for stalling(unrealistic penalties I might add)
When a plane stalls it does not go into a spin automaticly as AWs did, most times you have to force a plane to spin. And the blackouts were instant.
That should be clue enuff.
BTW I played AW extensivley and was a staff member
