I'm thinking it was "XXXXX shot down XXXXX". The "XXXXX was shot down by XXXXX of XXXX squadron" was in warbirds wasn't it?

An educated guess is that HT felt that naming the defeated pilot in the buffer has an adverse effect on said pilot.

One's handle appearing in the kill message all night sort of gets depressing, don't you think? Additionally, it can give him a "reputation" as an easy mark.

A little tough on a newbie, perhaps not so bad for old vets that are used to hearing the sound of someone beating on a metal garbage can with a jackhammer all night long.  ;)

Anyway, I think he did it to keep the embarassment factor down.

Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!
