I don't understand the embargo, and anyway it's quite possible your tastes my indeed enjoy a Cuban, but I actually like more robust stuff like fatty said. Other countries make great cigars. The hemigways are outstanding, so are the opusX if not too pricey. I'm not way into it, just had enough to know what's good.
For fakes, can't say i browse any internet site you couldn't find readilty available off a Google.com search. Thing is, not sure how colors would come across the screen. I bought a fake my second cigar purchase and took it to a local shop. They pointed out all the flaws which was a good heads up at the time. I have a high quality book with the pictures i bought years ago when getting interested. You can get them at any shop you buy your nightly stuff at.
I don't think anyone should start smoking, but if you already do i suggest you do what i do with my brother. We buy 7 cigars of various make and price, remove the labels, and replace them with numbers. You get your batch and review and smoke each one with no fancy labels to skew your opinion. Of course the outstanding stuff is real obvious, but you'd be surprised what odd cheap ones you rate and enjoy as excellent. Then you go buy them to save $.
