THE DODGE CHARGER RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh and chevy rules!!!!!!!!!

(i know the charger is dodge but u can't beat much with a 426 hemmi)

this is pretty nonsensical.

the 71 charger was a big bloated ugly piece of crap. The last nice charger was made one year before.  In my opinion the 71 to 73 Chargers are more disgusting than baby puke.  And there is no such thing as a 575...even if you "tub it out"( are you referring to a body mod here?)

oh and i bet you my first born  you have never seen a 502, let alone have one in your rattly poorly made f body bellybutton car.

shut up

DWEEBS!

1949 Nash. You can fix anything on it with a flathead, oil can, and wrench.

The Model T just got us all hooked.

The Beetle? Yeah, I suppose you could say it made its mark, especially considering how many morons made it to the roads with those new, cheaper cars.

The Mustang is a woman's car. Same goes for the 'ro. I hate to say it, but its true.

GTO, Judge, Charger (pre-70's) and the Challenger! Muscle cars with real muscle! Oh, and yeah the original Chrysler 300.

But, these days I prefer things like the Dodge 3500 Quad-Cab w/ V10. And, to each his own.

For unassuming style and performance it would have to be the 68/69 AMX  (no the wierd 71 model Javelin AMX)

For really pissing off dweebs in their 5.0's or obnoxious little civics the ONLY car is the Pacer-X with a 360. (Or a gremlin built with a 401, but it wont make someone kick in their car door like getting waxed by a Pacer, it's best if the fender paint does not match the door.  You get more points if the junk yard codes are still on some of the body parts.  Try to creatively hide the dual exhaust too.)

If you lose... so what.

Anyone can have a camaro or a mustang, you really have to be disturbed to drive an AMC

I would have included the Jeep/Willys, but they were more military than civilian when they made thier mark.
Here was my reasoning:

1. Model T
The first mass produced car in the U.S. which allowed middle income America to finally own a car.

2. Beetle
The most prolific car ever sold in the U.S. and still the easiest car to recognize from any distance.  The versatility of the Beetle goes unchallenged today.

3. 427SC
The first U.S. made car to win the Wolrd Manufacturer's Racing Cup and still one of the fastest cars ever made.  It epitomized what would later be called the "Muscle Car Era".

4. Original Pontiac GTO
The original muscle car which started the trend.

5. Original Chrysler 300
The first Hemi engine based car that proved luxury and speed were not mutually exclusive terms.

6. Original Corvette
America's first 2 seat sports car and the first American car to have a body not made of metal.  I believe it is also is the longest consecutive production car built in America.

7. Original Thunderbird
Ford's answer to the Corvette, but was geared more to the luxury buyer rather than the sports car buyer.

8. Plymouth Superbird
This car was wrought in controversy.  Taking the lead from what Ford did with the Cobra, Chrysler built just enough of these beasts to murder everyone at NASCAR.

9. Mustang
The first "Pony car".  Initally, the car was not a sports car, but rather a sporty car offered at low costs.  The demand was so great Ford could not build enough of them.

10. Camaro
Chevrolet was caught flat footed by Ford and quickly rushed this to production.  Once in production the "Muscle Car Era" would never be the same.  The competition between General Motors, Ford, AMC, and Chrysler was really brought to life once the Camaro debuted.

To be sure, there are other automobiles that made thier marks in our history and this list is mostly comprised of hot rods, which I have a partial affinity for.

That's an old pic of an engine.  Let's see a pic of it in your Camaro.  I'm pretty curious as to how you managed to shoe-horn that engine in.  I'm also curious just how much you've torqued the chasis since you did it.

Didn't really forget about it hblair.  The 55-57 Chevy really became popular after it became a classic.
The new production sales of it were good, but demand went sky high during the mid to late 60's.

A lot of cars could have squeezed in my list that all had something unique or first to offer something.  I kind of picked what I thought were cars that had many combinations of things that appealed to many people of the various eras and offered a change in direction for the automotive industry.
I am sure I missed something in the process.  Happens when ya get old. :D
