HT: "All airplanes are balanced"
« on: May 29, 2002, 06:26:15 PM »
This is from a HT employee in blue text on the main arena today at about 4:35 pm pst.

This is not my opinion, this is not me complaining, this is ONLY what HTC said about balance.

Here is the exact phrase:

Roy-- HT: Do you feel the game is balanced (air wise)

HTC-- Yes we do Roy.

Therefore, the la7, niki, spit, etc etc...they are all balanced, according to HTC.

For those of you new to MMOG, the term "balanced" means things should stay the way they are. HTC feels all planes are currently balanced at this time.

Just thought you would all like to hear what HTC thinks. Again, I am NOT stating ANY opinion on this subject or any other subject in this thread, only relaying what HTC said to me when I asked.

Thank you.

How does:

"Roy-- HT: Do you feel the game is balanced (air wise)

HTC-- Yes we do Roy. "

extend logically to: "Therefore, the la7, niki, spit, etc etc...they are all balanced, according to HTC."

?

While there are certainly some planes that are better than others overall, and every plane does some things better that others, I would agree that overall, things are fairly well balanced.

Sure there are those who complain about the La-7, the N1k2, the osty  etc.   But thats going to be the case until we have one plane to fly...and ain't that boring as all hell

In the MA today you see a huge variety of planes, even those with lesser preformance get used at least occasionally.  There isnt a single plane that I can say Ive gone more than a day or two without seeing at least once, and to me, that means its working...whatever it happens to be.

psssttt  that ain't no employee...

:D

and what do *you* mean by  "balanced?"  i read it differently than you're trying to say, i.e.,  the gameplay is balanced  with buffs, jabos, fighhters, gv's, etc etc...  the planeset has a long way to go to reflect WW2, but it's still damn good and always getting better.

if anything GV's is where a few more things are needed to be added and tweaked.

but rest assured, HTC is always working to bring us the best possible product.

RoyofCA ,

You most certainly are stating an opinion.  The words and their sequence that you picked set a mocking tone to your post.  You mention some aircraft that people commonly squeak about and expect to be seen as neutral?  It doesn't work that way.  None of us are truly unbiased, but trying to appear that way when you are in fact very biased is highly cynical.

As to HTC's position that the airwar is balanced, well, I agree.

All sides can fly all aircraft.  You can't get any more balanced than that.  To think that a Spit Ia should be equal and balanced with a Spit XIV is laughable in the extreme.  The same goes for the 109E-4 and 109G-10, or the 190A-5 and 152H-1.  Aircraft got better at their designed tasks as the war progressed.  No WWII based flight sim could begin to call itself a sim if the early stuff was just as good as the late stuff.

The way HTC has chosen to balance the late and early stuff is with ENY values and perk rewards for success, in and against, the various units in AH.

And why does this thread's title quote HT as saying "all airplanes are balanced" when, in fact, he never said that?

No load out changes at Re-Arm pad

HT also said that the ability to change loadout option during the re-arm had been "considered and denied"...

That one was sort of too bad imo but hey, I just pay my $14.95
and plug away.

As far as balance?  WTF is that?  is a C47 balanced against a Me262?    duh

If memory serves me right, a "balanced" plane will normally try to regain a level flight attitude.

Roy, whats with the PITA posts?  You seem awful new to be posting all this stuff.

LOL there ain't NOTHIN in this world like a GOOD cheese ball :D

I was getting my bellybutton handed to me while listening to your conversation Roy.

Reminds me quite a bit of those tee shirts you buy.

Ya put one on and there is "something" in the label that itches. You scratch your neck, go on with whatever you were doing, but THE Golly-gee THING KEEPS ITCHING.

You either spend all day scratching your neck, or you put on another shirt....

I've learned to change my shirt, and now have a greater appreciation for Shanes poster.

It says it all.

Change your shirt Roy, your necks gettin red.
