From one who did not serve in the military, THANK YOU ALL.
I was 18 in '72 with a lottery number of 17. I was not unhappy when the draft ended.
 My father and all my uncles served in WWII, and when I was old enough to comprehend the sacrifice they and our family made, not a day has gone by that I havent thought of those who fought and fight for my freedom. THANK YOU

All,

It's freaking amazing to see all that have served and those that still are currently serving .

Myself...was in the Marines :D ...might even still be...don't know cause I drink alot....j/k

Joined in '92 at the old age of 23 (all the other recruits were 18) and unfortunately left after 2 years...my feet began to go flat...two stress fractures in two years is not an ideal life.  Miss the life though.

In two years I spent time in California, North Carolina, Okinawa and South Korea.  Had a blast...drank lots of beer (I'm not known as Drunky cause I fly goons the most), did some crazy sh*t and have seen/done some amazing things.

Fast rope ain't sh*t...going down a rope in the "gorilla" from 60 feet is a freaking rush...

Anyway... again all

 him at that time...our "standard speed" when returning to

 shot for the day and on the weekends we'd anchor out in  
 St. Thomas. We rarely steamed overnight during those test ops :)

US Army, 1985 to present.

Started out as an E-1, spent 11 years enlisted, made it to the lofty rank of E-6 as a 91B Combat Medical Specialist (ie combat medic).  Spent time with and infantry division, armored division and then some Illinios National Guard time after I got tired of following tanks around.  (trust me, breaking track at 2am gets very old)

Commisioned in 1997 and currently work as an ICU Nurse at Madigan Army Medical Center at Ft. Lewis Washington.  Have been to such lovely places as Korea, Ft. Hood, Ft. Sam Houston TX, Ft. Carson Colorado, Ft. Belvoir Va, and Ft. Erwin CA.  Will be 17 years this month.  Hard to believe that I have been doing this that long, although not all of it is full time duty.  Still have 9 years until I can claim a pension.
