no. they want to play with the latest toys and big boys, then they should pay to play - just like the rest of us.

How about dollar cost averaging? Or whatever you economic geeks call it.

Every arena costs HTC essentially the same and they're entitled to add a decent profit.

So take that number and divide it up amongst the users.

So, the MA, with nearly 500 customers a night would be pretty cheap. Maybe the H2H guys could afford it even. It's the Arena of the Great Unwashed, where none can even spell "Chivalry" and chute shooting is considered great sport. It ought to be cheap for such easily entertained cretins.. like myself. Think of it as "Bread and Circuses" to keep the unruly lowlife like myself entertained. (And out of arenas suited for more proper gentlefolk.)

The TA, with 20-40 users would be considerably more expensive. Think of it as getting a college education or something. You got to pay to learn.

The CT with 10-20 nightly users would be much more expensive yet, of course. But hey, that A V A planeset, the reduced dar and icon settings are where the "leet meet to greet" and it's probably worth it to those that can appreciate such things.

The DA....... prohibitively expensive. But if you're going out on Main Street at High Noon to settle an old score in blood... well, it's probably worth it. Especially if you film your triumph to send to all your friends. If some AH Ace is going in there with ya to show you "the Move"... it's probably worth it too.

So, what do yas think?

I get paid $6 a week for allowance, and I'm 12, so I can't get a job.  Thats why I agree with Swoops idea, dont' get me wrong, if I had the money to play with I would pay the $15 a month, but I don't. I agree HTC has to make a living and also is not charging a fortune, indeed it is a bargain, but for a 12 year-old it is a pretty steep price, but then again HTC probably didn't make this game for little kids, instead for adults who's $15 is worth about one hour of work, but for kids $15 is 2 1/2 weeks of work. And also, try not to just read the last reply instead of the whole thing, because threads tend to get hijacked that way,

A limited arena for the h2h players would be cool (such as battle of britain) with a limited plane set at a reduced cost. But as for access to all main arena's they should have to pay ( i wouldnt mind if the sub price went down a few bucks) .but if u let them in for free ... the riff raff will show up . as in Fighter ace 2 in the free rooms it was all punk kids changing name tags every 1/2 hour to avoid the moderators with swearing , personal attacks, just ruining your game play with there kamakazi antics ect.
having to pay to play keeps the riff raff out and a more user freindly enviroment .
AS an example just look what was going on recentally in the TA with the vulching squadron, guys on there two week trial joining and just making chaos on the rest of the newbies/anyone else trying to learn this game . Isnt it hard enough with out getting vulched ??
Also another point is after there trial is up these guys take there punk vulching/swearing antics to the H2H rooms , and they like to ruin any and all hosts games. they think that because you have a room open they can enter and do what ever they want .and then get mad and attack the host all over this BB for getting tossed out.

Its only fair if you want to play with the big dogs you have to pay.
A bigger H2H room option ( more players) and a BoB room would be nice at reduced cost it would collect 100- 200+ more paying players I bet ... Just my opinion here It may not mean a thing :D

Actuelly I find the H2H a very "sporting" kind of place cuz if you vulch, taunt whatever trying to ruin the game host just typs .eject player and problem solved :)

And  yes I like roscos reply, maybe we could have like a 35-50 player max room that would be like a small CT? for like 3-5$ a month?

one other thing to consider....

bandwidth costs money...  more bandwidth needed = higher cost
The 'free' arena would cost HTC money...

do those of us paying want to pay for the bandwidth needed for the 'free' arena?

Hi, This is really directed towards Kevin14,
Now don't get me wrong, when you only make 6 bucks a week, yeah 15 dollars a month is pretty steep, But... I recal vividly being 12. I wanted a Moped (anyone remember those?) Asked my parents if I could have one. "Sure, they said...." but coming up with the funds was another matter. If I wanted one, I had to buy it. I spent alot of time that summer, MOWING LAWNS....  That's something a 12 year old can do. Schools out, you got some time, Might have enough left over to get yourself a stick... Or buy a nice young girl a pizza and a movie. There are all kinds of things a 12 year old can do to make some money. Some of the local grocery stores let kids carry your bags to the car for tips. Get imagineative (much like my spelling) and wing in the main.

Well that brings us back to the "subscribe for only 1 arena"
I still don't see what is so unacceptable about subscribing to only 1 or 2 arenas for a cheaper price? I know allotta people who won't pay 15$ for a bunch of arenas but like me would pay 7-10$ for just 1-2 arenas.

I'm 14, and kinda in the same position as Kevin14... 15$ doesnt grow on trees and I have to work for most of the money I get, 15$ a month is allot to me, I'd pay 7$ for 1 arena or SEA events but 15$ is allot.

Being able to choose the arenas you want to play&pay for would in the long run benifit both HTC and the community I think.

I Think this is a great idea. I cant see it doing any harm, say advertise it as one month " free " promotion. When they see some real Arena action the may get really hooked like us and Sign up for the MA.
Just looking at above posts I see some people actually worried that this may work!! :p

I personally dont like the idea, however I am for more attendance in the CT.

1) they should pay as everyone else does. It is a very reasonable price.  Even the youngsters could arrange their allowance through mom's credit card, or if parents could arrange a debit card for them.

2) I am not labeling all that fly in H2H. However I have stepped into some H2H arenas before and when I would shoot a few down in so called "free for all" fights, I would promptly be disconnected.  The behavior I experienced at times tells me the people using those arenas have a low maturity level and can be downright unpleasant. ;)

As Skurj says all this will cost HTC in more bandwidth, not only that but they will have to change their billing system and al lthe headaches that go with that to accomodate a few players. I think HTC have done more than enough to entice players to try Aces High by giving players free 8 player head to head and a free no obligation two week trial.

Yep, when I was 12 I was doing pretty darn good for myself.  Mowing lawns in the Summer, raking leaves in the fall, shoveling snow in the winter and wishing I could think of something to do in the spring lol.
