Today the german soccer-legend Fritz Walter died in age of 81.
He was the so called hero of Bern - the captain of the german soccer-team which has won the 1st german world championship 1954 in Bern/Switzerland.
This victory was celebrated enthusiasticly in Germany. It boosted the moral of the german people and will never be forgotten here.

With men like him Germany would win against the USA at Friday without any problems. These old heros had the fighting spirit to fight until the last minute of the game and to enforce the victory.

But today we have a bunch of millionaires who only care for their health instead of giving the last for the win (The only exception is the goalkeaper Oliver Kahn).

So its very likely that the USA will win at Friday.

Sorry, I had to miss the game last night. I had painted my living room and I chose the more exciting activity of watching the paint dry rather than snore through a soccer game.

I can expect the Euros to go crazy over Soccer because they aren't manly enough for real American games like football or baseball, but what is it with all you good Americans who are suddenly soccer fans? Did you listen to one too many Barbera Streisand albums and turn gay? Soccer is a girl's game here in America.

This soccer phenonoma has got to stop. Every weekend if you drive by a school field you can see several soccer games going on between five year olds. They're all wearing those studmuffingy looking shiny soccer shirts as they prance like sissies after the ball, trying in vain to actually kick the damn thing. Their yuppie parents sit along the sideline in para-chairs, umbrella and ice chest equipped, dutifuly holding little Piercy's water bottle in wait of the next time out. We are raising an entire generation of yup-pup, soccer playing little girly men. If this trend continues we will end up just like the Euros- a society without manliness.

Wake up America. We have become the greatest nation on Earth because we have so much more tetesterone than our Euro counterparts. Who leads the world in murders? We do! Who leads the world in robberies? We do! Who leads the world in rapes? Uh....Africa does... but who starts the most wars? We do!

I say we ban all males from soccer- and while we're at it, ban all males from figure skating, too, and all derivitives of figureskating- like ice hockey. Keep America Manly.

Check it out Elf, its like this, Football or Soccer is a National sport in every country in the world, except us, and Canada ofcourse. We play "soccer" for fun, at 4th of July picnics, or with friends in the backyard. Doesn't really mean anything to us. So wouldn't it be cool if we went to the biggest Sporting event in the world and won it with our barbecue team, and brought home the Cup and set it on the picnic table, and drank a couple of beers. It would show the world how BAD we really are.

1st ask yourself who is more a man - the person who fights against the other in this ridiculous armor with a funny helmet or the one who does not have to wear such a nonsense.

2nd - Just because you in the USA were never able to create a round ball and instead invented a ridiculous game where you could use your egg-shaped balls - it doesnt man that we in Europe accept such a stupidy.

3rd - your football is a big show like wrestling. Its really funny that you think that this shows are a kind of sport.
OK - You have these funny cheerleaders (this is something intersiting indeed...) a big music show and there is a kind of game where your armored bulls are running around - trying to play with this egg you call a ball. But to define this as a sport ?
What comes next ?
Medieval knight games with morning stars ?
Egg-shaped morning stars ?

4th - That the US-girls are playing soccer instead of trying to play with the egg-shaped ball in an ugly personal armor just proves that the females in the USA are more intelligent than the males...

Babek, the REAL reason Euros don't play any game that requires you to actually throw a ball is because Euros throw like sissys. All you can do is kick like little girls.

If I had a son there would be 3 things I would NEVER allow him to do- Play with dolls, wear a dress or play soccer.

AS A MATTER OF FACT, our football players ARE modern day gladiators. They are the biggest, the strongest, and the fastest. They are the most manly of American men. Well, all except the kickers of course. They're all a bunch of studmuffingly little Euro soccer players who have no need for a jock strap.

OK - maybe the following story will show you why I dislike football.

Years ago I worked in a hospital in Frankfurt and on my duty station there was a beautiful colleague. A really beautiful woman !

So maybe this was the reason why my brain has been shut down when she asked me if I would like to go with her watching a football match.
I said "Yes".

Big mistake... REALLY BIG MISTAKE...

After some seconds I asked myself why in hell there were people in Germany playing football.

But - Ok - we went to the game between two teams called Frankfurt Galaxy and something from the Netherlands.

Unlike a normal soccer game I thought I have entered a Disney Land for poor people. The whole people were on an area where they could make bullriding on an automated bull things and many other of these american like games.

Then we went into the stadion. This was the part which was Ok because it is normally a soccer stadion and I knew it from before.

The next was the marching-in of the teams. They all weared the armors, their helmet and their gay-looking trousers.

When the names of the players were told, I recognized some names as those od retired german soccer-players. What a pity - I thought. After such a great soccer life they ended in gay trousers...

Then I saw that some of the players had made a funny warpainting in their faces.
I wouldnt have been astonished if they would start to take skalps from others...

I tried to read the rules which were printed on the backside of the entrence-card.

Then the cheerleaders arrived (that was the funny part).

And the game started.

These men in the funny armors, helmets and gay-trousers took a special formation. Everyone was obviously waiting for a start signal. Then the two lines crashed into each other while this egg (EGG !!!! ) was thrown in the wrong direction back to a man who was waiting for it. This man threw it then to another of his team who tried to break through the lines but - BECAUSE ITS AN EGG - he missed him, which didnt hindered the men of the other team to continue their attack on the man and to bury him under their weight.

I tried again to read the rules while some referees in funny black and white clothes were speaking some strange things in microphones.

The whole game was boring for me - there was no tactic like in soccer. All the times they tried to hit the others and to catch the egg.

Then one man reached the end of the side and started to cheer - like the others in the stadion. I started to applaude ... and then registered that this was a mistake because the people from the Netherlands had made a goal.

OK - I thought - this was a mistake I will not repeat and continued to read these strange rules.

I was still irritated when I saw how a man tried to kick the egg between two large posts.

He failed - BECAUSE HE HAD TO SHOOT AN EGG INSTEAD OF A REAL BALL !

The cheerleaders were showing their program during the game - which was really strange (but more interesting than the game ) . I just waited that some advertising products wouls also be presented.

Then the people again cheered.

I had lerned my lesson and didnt cheered with them - and again this a mistake, because Frankfurt had made a goal. This time the man really made the stunt and kicked the egg between the posts.
And now I was cheering with the others around me.

The game was still boring - but after the game we had a nice after-game program

So - alhough the football game was a horror and really not understandable for me, the day ended in a very good way...

Now - do you understand why I think that football is some kind of show instead of a real sport like soccer ?
