                                     Eastern men to buy a fake ambulance spurred
                                     authorities to issue warnings that terrorists may seek to
                                     use bogus emergency vehicles as weapons, authorities
                                     said.

                                     About two weeks ago, two men walked into Movie Time
                                     Cars Inc., a Lyndhurst company that rents replicas of
                                     ambulances and police cars to TV and film producers.
                                     The men offered to pay cash to buy a replica ambulance,
                                     said Joe Sargo, the company's owner.

                                     Sargo, suspicious, told the men he does not sell vehicles
                                     to anyone. The men quickly left, but an employee jotted
                                     down the license plate number of the car and called
                                     police, Sargo said.
That triggered a series of alerts to police and rescue
                 agencies in northern New Jersey and New York that terrorists might seek to use
                 emergency vehicles or look-alikes to carry out attacks, said Sandra Carroll, a
                 spokeswoman for the Newark FBI office.

                 She said the FBI knows who the two men are and are seeking them for questioning,
                 but has not connected them to any terrorist organizations. She would not identify the
                 men but said they were confirmed to be Middle Eastern.

                 Carroll said the information from Lyndhurst police about the incident "was combined
                 with some intelligence that ambulances or police cars may be a target." Alerts were
                 sent to Bergen County and New York City police and rescue agencies to be on the
                 lookout for anyone trying to obtain an emergency vehicle or look-alike.

                 Movie Time does not have actual ambulances or police cars, but the replicas are
                 authentic enough that they can pass for the real thing, Sargo said.

                 "For all intents and purposes, what they wanted looked like an ambulance," he said.

Good for them.  I have no problem with profiling.  Put it this way...if white anglo saxon protestants were out there commiting terrorist acts and had vowed to kill any and all Arabs that they found I would understand it if I was profiled and given a hard time by authorities, or citizens in Arab countries.

These citizens may well have averted a terrorist operation...I them.

 I look at it like this. This is OUR house and these our OUR rules.  If I go to anybodies house and don't obey the rules and then tell them their rules are evil and rascist they will kick me out, rightfuly so.

Good heads-up play by them.  Of course, if I owned that shop and ANYONE came in there waving around cash and then "quickly left" when I didn't sell them one, I would be very suspicious of that.  Regardless of country of origin.

Always have always will.

Every time I walk the streets and I see a girl she is profiled into the catagory of  "Yes I would do her",  "No way in hell would I do her" or "I would do here AND her Mom".

Where in all the post did you get we don't want non whites in the US? I didn't see anyone write that. But when you have sleeper cell in the country and world wide looking to kill you, I think we take a closer look at who you are and what your up to. If your a law abiding person and up to no good, no problem. No matter who or where you or your family comes from.

I'm white and I get profiled all the time.

I'm 6'2", 250+ lbs., long hair, beard, usually in a black T-shirt, and jeans.

I stayed at the Marriott in KC and security followed me every time I left the room.  Did it piss me off? Ya, but you live with it.  And you don't sue people over it.  I accept the fact that to some people I look like a thug and I GET OVER IT.

I'm not an Arab and I still get profiled. I'm not black but I'm profiled, so what?

Profiling people is just another way to say paying attention. Not all who fit the profile are troublemakers and not all troublemakers fit the profile.

 We have limited resources and time to protect our families and ourselves; it only makes sense to pay the most attention to the people who fit the description of most of your problems.

 I'm not saying you punish people for being in this group. And you don't use it as grounds for conviction if they are charged with something.  You just watch them closer. It’s called managing your resources.

To appease the whiners who think it's not fair to only check the shoes of people who fit the profile of a middle eastern terrorist.  

Same reason I saw a 300lbs (at least) blonde black woman get the "treatment" at the airport.

Same reason I've seen people in wheelchairs get "the treatment".

Same reason I've gotten the "treatment" (I decided not to use my official Military ID card and orders to get out of it)

Of course while all this random fair checking is going on (I usually see about 4 - 5 people per flight... non of which are Arab or even resemble middle eastern, let alone have an accent) who know's who slips by.

Thats why I PROFILE EVERYONE before I get on a flight.  So sorry.. hate to sound racist but my life is worth more than some whiner's bellyachin.  SO.. if that makes me a racist, then by god I'm a racist and proud of it.
