I'm white and I get profiled all the time.
I'm 6'2", 250+ lbs., long hair, beard, usually in a black T-shirt, and jeans.
I stayed at the Marriott in KC and security followed me every time I left the room. Did it piss me off? Ya, but you live with it. And you don't sue people over it. I accept the fact that to some people I look like a thug and I GET OVER IT.
I'm not an Arab and I still get profiled. I'm not black but I'm profiled, so what?
Profiling people is just another way to say paying attention. Not all who fit the profile are troublemakers and not all troublemakers fit the profile.
We have limited resources and time to protect our families and ourselves; it only makes sense to pay the most attention to the people who fit the description of most of your problems.
I'm not saying you punish people for being in this group. And you don't use it as grounds for conviction if they are charged with something. You just watch them closer. It’s called managing your resources.
Not everybody in a ski mask is a robber. But if I were working the night shift at the 7-11 that’s the guy I'd be watching.
