Strangely I find myself agreeing with RRAM 100% here :p

I think Korea had done really well to get to this point but here the dream should have ended, Spain played by far the better football and both goals were valid, perhaps the officials are more frightened of the crowd than anything else :(

hehehehe i knew there would be one of those here when i wake up :D

Spainish goal which you guys are argueing over, was scored after a whistle and flag going up, if you look carefully, goalie and defenders stoped playing. Hince it wasn't a goal, it was a chance :)

Spain simply ran out of juice in 60th minute, as simple as that.
They were kicking bellybutton till then, and should have scored at least twice. Had they done so, it would have been their game.

and all is clear : you were asleep during the match, ;)  and maybe you are not   wide awake yet :D :)

You cannot state  they have failed two chance so they deserve to lose the match, this  is not the way soccer goes on.

If I hadn't watched the entire match I wouldn't say this, but I think a linesman played a definitive role in Spain's defeat.

Hats off to Korea, now I want to see what's the next thing they are going to do to help them. :D

Referee playing as Striker for them, Cyrano...

is about the only thing the referees have not done for them. To score the goals for Korea themselves.

look at the picture.  look at the background.  the linesman is NOT on the end line.  Plus both players are probably preventing a clear view of the ball.

I couldn't stay awake for this one, I tried but was falling asleep in the 15th minute, so I went to bed and was gone about the time I hit the pillow.  So answer me this.  Did the lineman's flag go up immediately?  Or did he wave it AFTER the goal went in?  If the flag went up immediately, then the linesman made a bad call and thought the ball went over the end line.  If the linesman waited to put up the flag, then he's got it in for Spain.   I don't know, I have only seen the pictures here.

Bad calls are part of the game.  Donovan was clearly onside in the early going of our game.  The ball deflecting off the German could have been called a penalty (as even tho it wasn't intentional, it gave a clear advantage to the Germans) and it could have also been ruled to go over the line.  The ref chose to play on (subsequently calling a correct foul on Berhalter) and the linesman said he had a clear view and the entire ball was not in the goal.  Also, the Germans were taking a few dives here and there (however, I think the free kick on which Ballack scored was a legit foul) that the ref bought into.

Spain outplayed Korea but they went home.  Portugal outplayed the USA over most of the game, but they went home.  Mexico definitely had the possession against the USA but went home.  The USA actually played their best game of the Cup against Germany but couldn't finish (and Kahn made some brilliant saves!), and went home.

It's all politics, FIFA is trying to expand football. They are tierd of the same teams winning the WC. Hoping that some of the small teams win, or atleast make it to the quarterfinals. Too bad for Spain though, they never won.

I'm telling ya it's JFK's and Jimmy Hoffa's fault.

WE played very well. In fact we won this match. A referee stole it.

The story of your life.

I for one am glad those Spainish popsicle's lost. And by 2 goals is just sweetness.

How come they didn't score any points?
A. They are homo's.

Bu bye Spain.

The exact point I was going to make, plus  the Ref followed the linesman flag, and from his (the linesman) position it was out...like or not thats just the way it is.

You can carry on about bias refereeing, but Spain didn't finish the Koreans at any stage of regular time, or the golden goal stage. And the ref sure didn't score the penalty that got S.Korea through.

ps. Go Germany cause I drew them in our work sweep! :D

Hey Ram, we will show you how to play the south koreans ;)
But this dudes can run forever, endless power they have, it
will be a hard fight. Good thing is we dont need that much chances,
1 or 2 good ones and usualy we score it.
And it should be done within 90min, everything else is remis.
The statement below is true.
