How about a new view for the Keypad 2?

How about a new view for the Keypad 2? When I hit it it looks directly into the headrest, yeah gonna see the spits and nikkis over your prettythang like that. How about when you hit 2 it looks to one side of the headrest, then the other, back and forth for as long as you hold it, for about 2 seconds each time. Then it would be a lot easier to clear your six instead of hitting 2 + -> at the same time.

Before taking off move your head with the arrow keys to the best six position you can get then hit F10.  Your view will be saved that way now.

yes rightfoot, but you only have a view over your shoulder on one side. (most of us, i assume, have it over our right shoulder)

it is too time consuming and akward to change the six view from your right to your left shoulder in a fight with someone on your six.  This is fine as long as you are turning right in a fight.

i realize that the feature that was suggested might not be that good if you actually wanted to keep a fix on the view behind you on one specific side without switching back and forth to a set time limit.

perhaps a multi-key function could be used.  something close enough that could be keyed up using one hand.

or how bout this...use the 0 (ins) key to perform the function of the view from side to side.  Currently this plants your view in your lap in fighters.  not very useful.

i still think this is a good idea.

my 1.3 cents

Ahh...well hitting 1 and 3 gives you another 6 view if you're using keypad..can set that to the left for a short-term fix.

LEFTBACK and RIGHTBACK views overlap if you're not zoomed in.  In a plane with a bad 6 view (like the P-51B or C.205), I never hit the BACK view and use the other 2 exclusively.  The effect is much the same as the above poster seems to desire.

hmm Linda Blair look out!!!

errmm think about it from a realism point of view...  Ok ok i know we can already do 360 with our virtual pilot's head, but in reality a pilot would have to look over the other shoulder to see the other side...

also.. if its not an instant type view change it maybe disorienting (nauseating)for some...

You guys seriously dont know about the arrow keys?

look back, arrow all the way forward, then hit page up till your basically standing in the cockpit then hit f10.

The only planes that this does not work well for rear view on are the bombers and the tbm.

I probably shouldnt tell you this, since bouncing you will be more difficult.

A smart enma will dive below and climb up - these are the choice kills and are quite savory when executed to their explosive conclusion - such a special view button won't help in this case.

Roll, yaw and LOOK is a  better solution.

Having a wingman 1k off your wing also helps keep your six clear. From his rear quarter view he can see, your six, below and above.
