Noobie, one month...Spit 9,  97 kills so far this set. I'd like to see what some old hands could rack up with this sucker.

This thread is redundant!

I really don't see the point of threads like this one. All the salient data is freely available on the HTC website - scores and stats. Why not visit the site if you want to know more? The only real purpose this thread serves is to provide a platform from which its subscribers can parade their egos. How many of these kills come from the all too typical AH Numerical Supremacy Smashdown? Or from vulches? hehe - bet no-one admits to that.

A more meaningful thread might be How many fields have you saved from capture? But of course, gallant efforts like that cannot be measured by the precious scoring system, which I have come to view as the raison d'être of a very large slice of the AH populace.

Not really, the original intent of the poster was asking to see what diversity was out there and why. You can bypass this thread if you like, your not obligated to read it. From the people posting there is a nice mix of different planes and the same people mixing their planeset up. I like the thread myself.

BTW you are welcome to start a thread with your questions also, I'm just tired of people pooping on every thread.

LOL, now that is bad. I rarely fire that rear "gun" I just start throwing articles of clothing in hopes it will snag in the prop and take the plane down.

My most embarrassing death so far this tour was to a 110's rear gun.  :D

I don't poop on every thread, but I know that tired weary feeling you get when people do. I feel that very same way about the Mission Editor

Whoa there Beet1e, you're way out of line here. I know many of the guys responding here, such as Apache, Roscorro and AvidMC.
I've never know any of them to blow their own horn. That's a mighty broad brush your using. Please reconsider your comments, as you're being very unfair to some genuinely nice people.

Without even looking, I know I get most of my kills in the Flying Fortress.  This may have been true in the USAAF in WW2 as well:  I have read that  more kills were made by B-17s than any other plane.  If someone has the WW2 stats, please post them.  I'm sure many of us would be interested.

It is incredibly easy to get kills in the B-17 in AH.  Most people can't figure out how to make a frontal attack so they creep in from behind and are destroyed in a few bursts.  Lately, the only planes that have been able to shoot me down and live have been two attacks by CavemanJ and Voss in Me-262s.  A couple of pilots have taken me down with the 30mm cannon on the 109G, but they attacked from dead six and went down as well.

A couple of times I've cut my throttle to let a slower, lower, plane catch up so I can shoot it down at D1.0.

It's going to be interesting to see how pilots try attacking formations of 3, 6, 9 or more bombers.  They had better learn how to make head-ons or some other kind of attack besides sneaking up on buffs' sixes.

For the record, I fly between 23 and 28.5K.

Sorry I got rather off-topic.

I do most of my killing in the Mosquito Mk VI.

Funny enough, I do most of my dying in the Mosquito Mk VI as well.;)

I'm glad I'm not the only one that has managed this feat of daring doo-doo.

In Yak-9U ->d600 -> Just a little closer -> pingpingpingpingping -> engines gone -> blush.

I don't think so. This board allows for the free expression of one's views, in accordance with rules laid down by the moderators. If you can indicate any parameters that I might have breached, let me know what they are. Then, and only then, I will post a retraction. But I think you'll find that denting a few egos is not deemed to be unacceptable behaviour.

Being "nice" has absolutely no bearing on this issue at all.

All this crap about scores represents to me everything that's wrong with Aces High. We're so preoccupied with personal achievement, and that is so far from how the real war was. But people on this board have said openly that they're not interested in the war; they are interested only in the individual skirmishes, ie. padding their own scores, and to hell with strat. Threads like this are of no value, and serve only to enhance the gangbang element. I throw my head in my hands and cringe when the call goes up for Tiffies, P38s, LANCs, B17s, Goons because a mission is about to embark on the capture of a small field. And when the purely inevitable result is achieved (after all of 10 minutes) all the WTFG/virtual high fives that come up on the text buffer make me want to puke. The results of the mission will be that some guys got a couple of back to back six kill sorties - a feat which I have accomplished myself by the way - and it's the stats from that kind of mission that are being hyped right here in this thread.

If you want a Line 'em up, shoot 'em down turkey shoot, congratulations - and welcome to the Aces High MA, where you have found what you are looking for.
