Best specific pilots?
« Reply #15 on: June 27, 2002, 08:05:24 AM »
1. Yak  - GhostH always gave me fits in when I bumped into him. :)  (never bumped into Fariz)

2. 190  - RAM

3. P-47 - Frenchy, as well as not just a few of the jug-centric guys.

4. P-51 - Hangtime

5. F4U  - Kbman

6. P-38 - Citabria

and how could you not add the 109?

7.  109 - Nath/Aper (equally imo)

Note: I do not consider an expert at "cherry picking" to be a master of thier ride or an aircombat samurai.  They're just good staying high, safe and able to slap down those not looking.  All of the above IMO are experts in all facets of air combat with thier respective rides. Some like Drex and Leviathan(Dead) will be an expert no matter WHAT the ride they choose :)

to you all.

Is he talking ATA or ATG?  ATG in the F4U would be any MAG-33 member. :)

I'd say the best P-38 guy I've fought against would be kappa.

Nothing like stroking egos huh?  I've shot a few of them down myself.  Especially Hangtime a few times.   I care less who is a "great stick", if they're Rooks, great I got their backs.  If anyone else in the ARENA is Knight or Bish, I can careless.

I used to be the best in the 190a8 and for proof I say ask Hangtime if he remembers the spankings I gave him a couple of years ago :D

I'm too much of a dweeb now to have many good flights anymore.  But I still love lugging that heavy 4 cannon beast around at low alt so you better watch out! :)

Westy makes a good point. The true master is the one that kills you even when you have the advantage.

Drex was low & slow in p47, I came in higher faster 3 times in 15 min in a la7 and he handed me my head all 3 times.

Wilbuz, Apar, natural born killers of the LW kind.

Jugs well its already been said. 56th Zemke's wolfpack has perhaps the best jug pilots in the game exceptions being Drex & Lephturn.

Westy thanks for the complement but in the recent loose duece shootout Odee & myself ran into Fariz & his wingman. We won one out of 3, all in the Yak9U. Fariz is awesome, I don't consider myself in his class.

If I look up and see 6 high P51's I think Midnight & the 412th And I bank E while calling for help.
But if I see 2 or 3 low pony's I say lookout, Hangtimes in town & I run away.
Hangtime OWNS the pony low & dirty.

Just a little question from my side:

I flew AH for over a year, but never i ran into Drex.

I heard from everywere that he is one hell of a stick. Does he use an AH nick different from "Drex" or does he spent only a few hours a month in the MA?

Naudet,

The answer to your question about Drex is a very simple one that has very complex repurcussions.  The answer will make even less sense if you have never seen the movie "The Usual Suspects."  The reason for this is that Drex is the AH version of Keyser Soze.  He is there, but you don't really know he is there.  He is everywhere but nowhere.  He is what every virtual pilot scares his children with: "Check 6 and cover your father's (or, seeing as this is the 21st century, mother's) back, or Drex will get you."
