Kill messages will probably be completely different then what we have now Oct

I figure they'll say something like 'moose landed with 30 kills' or something like that

I like this because they're trying to promote living

Im sure it will only scroll one msg saying you scored some many kills that sortie, It would be silly to scroll 15 kill msgs if they doing this to control network traffic.

I actually think its a good idea. So what if you dont see a victory msg for your single kill. Most of the time you died with the guy. I think its more comendable to see a succesful returned to base sortie. Makes me think of the perk point threads concerning points only if you rtb.

It means that network updates of friendly positions will not be as important as enemy ones

So if you're in a furball with 15 friends and 15 enemies, the 15 enemies will have network priority and will lag less

So if you make a multimilion kill sortie and crash/ditch/die at the end means no kill massage ;) and no perkopints awarded? :D ehm well prolly not but could not help myself to ask...

In my opinion, good pilots are those who fly to score victorys and survive at the same time. You might get 4~5 kills flying in something like a Spit or a N1K2, jumping in to a messy furball and flying like a suicidal maniac.. but if you get shot down.. well, too bad.. no acknowledgements.. bad SA...  yer dead! Why acknowledge a dead pilot who jumped into bad odds and flew unwisely? ;)

Anyhow, I don't think anyone's gonna lose serious sleep over this.. :D

Shhhh, Kweassa, that is something called skill ;).

I have a feeling that it will reduce numbers of suicide Lame-7s diving into ack for you.

Surely it is a way to promote che....smart flying. And vulching. And gangbanging. Oh yes, times are great !!

I don't think it will stop squadmates giving "Way To Go" calls or even "" from the enemy planes that you downed in a good fight. Hell Squadmates usually fly in the same area anyway. Plus I think it might at least make some headway on all the people accusing others of "stealing kills".

Good move HTC; reduction of network traffic is a very good thing to have.

we have text macros for the radio buffer?

I guess you could setup your joystick to send a text string when you hit a button.  I dunno, I have no reason to do that with my Saitek profiles.

Even if we did, I'd rather squelch 1 before squelching 6.

Already have it.  I have a TH F-22 Pro with a stickworks digital chip installed.  I had a couple extra/unused positions on one of my hats so I programmed 'salute' on one and 'wtg' on another.  Anything to keep from having to touch the keyboard in flight.

I will miss seeing squad mate messages going by but for better net performance I'm sure I won't miss it for long.
